Even though i'm not a member of those torrent sites, i'm pretty sure you have to log into those before you start downloading. Thats what happened to me when i used to have an account at Midnight

it saddens me to read this. does our community really come across as a rude and uninviting(no pun intended) one?

feel free to post bhovoi as long as it's not about invites or in colour.

No, private trackers don't care about that, they just care about ratio etc.

You may have DHT and/or PeerExchange enabled......thats a no-no with most, if not all private trackers

In utorrent, click Options, Preferences, BitTorrent. Make sure there is NO check in 'Enable DHT' and "Enable Peer Exchange"

Click Apply, OK

Edit: Sorry, didn't see it was resolved. Leaving my answer in case other have 403 problems

-------------------

What version uTorrent are you using?

It could be that the tracker has banned the version of your client you are using. A lot of sites have been banning versions of uTorrent and Azureus, that they deem unsafe or easy to hack.

Just recently I got a similar error asking me to get a newer version of my client. I can't remember if it said 403, but 403 means forbidden, so it probably was something like that.
