Hi everyone
Just got some cheap games from thailand (Crysis and Arma) but im having trouble getting them started. I have cd keys for both games. Crysis gets 3/4 installed then i get an Error 1311.Source file not found:D:\support.cab. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it. Arma will install the whole way but when i go to play it it asks me to put the correct disk in. Any suggestions on how to make these games work would be great !!!!!

Thanks super

error 1311 is common with cheap-ass CDs that pirates use so you should get used to it if this is how you get your games. what you could try is to browse the cd and copy the contents to your hard drive and install it from there. if it dosen't work, check out the open signup thread instead, or buy the game.

for the arma game, you need to crack/patch it, discussion of which i think is not allowed here, but look closely at any readme or nfo files on the disc. again, if it still doesn't work, check out the open signup thread, or buy the game.

Why does he need to check the open signup thread? This isnt going to solve his problem, he needs to find a site that deals with games where he can openly discuss how to crack and install what he has.

If he can't google a 1311 error, what the hell good is it pointing him to more BT sites where he can download more stuff he can't deal with?

click on Start -> Run -> regedt32 in the box -> OK.

From the list that appears on the left hand side of the screen expand My Computer -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Microsoft -> Windows NT -> CurrentVersion -> Winlogon.

After selecting Winlogon new options will appear on the right hand side of the screen. Find "allocatecdroms" and double click on it. This value should be 0. Not 1.

The security policy for a machine is set at boot time / login time so you'll need to reboot your computer for either of these changes to take effect.

you're absolutely right on the first count, just thought i'd save him some money...the crap he bought MUST have been gotten off BT in the first place, and i can't stand the thought that people make money off it. we're pirates, but honourable ones.

he managed installing the other game, so it isn't security policy. i've seen these thai thingies first hand and can assure you that they're of exceptionally low quality. the disc is fuxored.

I agree the disc is probably shit or has shit on it, or something that closely resembles shit . . .

It could be scratched all to hell, It could be missing some substrate

He could check it with the Nero Tools etc, but im not interested enough to follow this any longer.

I threw him a bone, if we then know that isnt the problem, no harm no foul, off he goes in to the sunset.
