Hi Iam new to game , i use to play age of emipre , onmy birthday some one has given me gift of world of warcraft , and it seems it has to be play online only ...... in my room i have no internet , is there a way i can play withoiut internet with computer like age of empires

Unfortunately, no. It is strictly online. Don't suppose you got a gift receipt for the game? But I'm guessing you already opened it so you may not be able to return it anyways. Maybe talk to your friend to see if he has a receipt. Or sell it. Good luck.

Also you need to pay a monthly fee to play world of warcraft. The first month is free because it is included when you buy it.

Actually there is a small program file you can download and it turns your pc into a server and you can play wow without being on the internet, of course you cant do alot of quests and things alone the game wont let you go to certain places, and it doesnt work with burning crusade as far as i know. Now if you can get internet there are many good private servers for wow out there, thats where i play. hope this helps.

Private servers SUCK.

Unless of course, your the type of lameass that likes to do things like use cheatcodes, or use hacks in online games. Then private servers should be fine for your no-gaming-skill ass.

This I say after having tried multiple private servers instead of paying my regular Blizz account up.

You want the most out of it? Pay for the damn subscription, it more than makes up for it in the actual game experience.


Don't want to pay the monthly fee? Don't play. The private servers only give you a shadow of an idea of how the game actually plays.

If you want free MMORPG, go buy Guild Wars, which is excellent and has no monthly fee for online play.

Not all private servers are the same big mouth, the good ones are updated regularly, offer different types of servers, which are blizzard like and also ones that have extras, you havent played on the good ones so dont judge them all the same, you dont know jack about everyone out there.

Updates don't account for proper scripting of NPC's.


At the most, I've seen 1/2 proper scripts, which detract from the difficulty of what instances are like on the official servers.

I would more go for the "fun" servers with broken scripting over a Blizzlike, where I'm spending all that time leveling for a unintentionally nerfed instance.

Yes, your lucky i was able to see you havent enjoyed the better private servers. If you played on the one i did, even tried it, then you could say its bad but you havent. They are all very different and each group runs them in different ways.

I know, but it seemed like you were implying that I use them. I don't. because none of them give you the "real" experience. so I don't see a point in playing an MMO if it's only half complete :P

The first half of the post was for you, ballchinian.


Whereas the second half was for Vampyre, and he did PM me, and it was the first set of servers I tried out.


I went to free servers after my account lapsed to practice my Raiding skillz while I was away from the officials, in which I am in a guild w/ my nephew.

He lives in Japan, and it's all he really does w/ his time, so I get to game w/ him, which makes it worth the $15/month.


Unfortunately, they haven't quite got the phase scripting for instance NPC's down. Some have been able to activate abilities, but Adds and ability phases are still not operating properly.


Sooooooo... it was pretty worthless as practice for official servers.

The only thing good about private servers is that they keep cheapskate noobs off the real servers.
