Couple months ago alot of Newbies were coming to zeropaid. Most of them we did not get along with. Most of them made pretty crappy threads. But it seems that it has stoped. We aren't getting as many newbies that can't post. But when we do get newbies now, we jump all over them becouse they said something stupid. That is not very nice, Unless they are starting to pick a fight with us (Supremebeing) Maybe we should start giving some newbies a chance. What do you think?

Yes, I agree... I saw some threads where newbies said something that to US might seem stupid and people jumped all over them for saying w/e they said. You are right, it has stopped or not occured as frequently and thta is a good sign. =D

I have noticed it too. But, I think it is more like what Freshmen in High School or Rookies in the NFL go through. Kind of like an initiation I guess. Anyone else get this vibe?

I'd say....tough it out noob's.... 123456789 got blasted many times as a noob....Krell/TC/notbob (don't recall who exactly but those are some long term members off the top of my head) and many of the other long time members blasted me at first too....it's the circle of life on ZP. LMFAO

So if a noob reads threads before posting....then they know what to expect plus it kinda weeds out the really lame posts that we had with cough cough.....someone who enjoyed blowing Eddie Vedder....and the likes there of....

Borgster: CLEAN OUT YER PM BOX! Lmfao I'm getting sick of saving PM's that can't go through to .txt files....

Lmao, I also agree with CCSDUDE, everybody that started out and is known now has encountered or been rejected or cursed at when they started out, and look what they are now.. Hmm that made me think, we should do that more often if this is the result. JK!!! =D

I agree with you yoda, we should be a tad more tolerant.

I would point at the fact that a few months ago we were in summer and school was out. There were far larger numbers of new members then.

Those of you who have seen me pick fights know that I do it pretty carefully, that I do it generally only when they're attacking someone else (for what I see as no or not a good reason) and that there's no holding back when I do it. (well, maybe a little)

I think it's a little unrealistic to expect a newcomer to read every thread to see if their question was asked 3 months ago. There are going to be people who don't want the "culture" of ZP -- they just came here looking for a friendly answer. Instead, people get called stupid, told they're full of crap, and on and on. Jeez, people even rag on their spelling. A little while back, the "why aren't there any (more) girls on ZP" thread got going, and at the time I suggested that maybe that was the way the ZP gang handled things and maybe that was the way they like it. Nothing wrong with that. But if a few more rational heads leave, ZP won't be much more than an intolerant old-boys club, and the new thread will be "why aren't there any noobs on ZP?" Of course you're right, some people have stuck through it anyway, but like I said -- it depends what you want ZP to be. You may gain a few more dedicated every-day-posters over the coming months with this kind of thing, but it won't be conducive to being a friendly, accessible resource for the P2P public, which is what I thought it was aiming to be. Just my 2c.

I am pretty sure it's NO warez hashes. They are pretty strict about that type of thing around here. Although pretty much everything else goes. :-)

i try to be understanding an tolerant becasue yea we were all newbies at some point to everything...

althought i have seen a lot of the older members drop out that i was used to seeing.

I have seen some members settle down into good roles.. like Krell.. CCSdude..Klimt ..grab_grab.. are a few of the more i've seen settling down into this lil haven.

I've tried to keep a decent rep here and try an open some people to different perspectives...

I agree with you man.
I started that thread (where are the girls) cuz I was sick of all the lame shit I was reading and if it was gonna be chatty chatty, well I figured at least make it something people won't fight about and it seemed to work, but I always like the way ZP used to be a little more relevent to P2P etc.
I really feel ZP is getting better and is now a meld of the old with the new chatty ways. Just be cool with each other and I think it will all balance out eventually.
when the shit comes up we really got to ignore it (phew) or at least back each other up to push it back where it belongs.
like they say shit happens. hehe

I had a hard time holding on and was getting ready to leave, but I have lot's of friends here who basicly made me feel better and I mellowed out and hanged on. I think positive people have to gather round sometimes and back each other up. That has happend time and time again and I apreciate it, hope to see that and be a part of that if I am needed.

If it weren't for my friends and the cool people here I would leave. But I like being helpful and that is how I began here and how I feel best. I was never a chatter till basicly that was all that was here lately.

I guess I will chat and help. :-)
Noobies hang tough and it really feels like a family here a awful lot of times.

there are some very smart people with good insights to share and I am beginning to apreciate that more also.

peace out!

yeah, i remember when i was a noob here, i got slammed pretty darn hard, but it was for a good reason (my post rate at one time was actually higher than the 18 or so a day it is now)

it all depends on the noob tho, like skorch, he needed a good slapping around....

rickio, i agree with you once again, in the short time ive been here, ive seen a huge change, the members are still chatty as ever, but are now chatty about helpful subjects, or just try to lighten the atmosphere a bit in some of the noobie threads

lately i havent seen too many slams on noobs, or if i have, i think they were justifiable, but it can allways be better

(btw klimt, at first your frog thing was anoying, but now its sorta cool and i look to see what you've called it next, glad to see you weren't "bullied" away from posting it in EVERY post, it adds a unique atmosphere to ZP)

one last comment i have (i prommise this is the last one), when somebody posts warez, dont quote them, it makes it harder to delete, and just accents the fact it was posted, at most make a reference to it or quote a few words, but not the warez itself

ok, one last last last thing, jolton, if you have stuff like that, pm it to somebody, or use an instant messenger, zp really doesnt seem to have a problem with that :)

FINALLY, im done

i did those quotes on purpose. I ultimately will respect the rules but actually that was a point way before you joined that a number us of tried to get implemented. I mean posting a link should not be a big deal, it is the hosting that is the big deal. but I shouldn't mention it. it might bring up that dreaded subject.

I personally think it's real lame not to be able to post a hashlink.

oh well....:-)

I am very much for sharing links etc. my only recent pet peeve is more respect for each other.

the only reason i broght it up was because i just read recently of another p2p site (or was it a forum for a p2p program....) being shut down because it "showed users how to download illeagle movies and software"

i would really hate to see ZP be brought down by such an avoidable thing

but yeah.....probably shouldnt bring that up, im sure its been gone over to death

gnite guys

When I joined, my user name was different. It was just Ken. Then it was changed. I never had any problems. I often had a strange sense of humor(IE Iguanas), but I never really had a hard time here. I really don't see what the fuss is all about. This is just a BBS, why would anyone even care what kind of response they get. Just weed out the useless answers to your questions/comments until you find the response your looking for. You may be a so called "newbie(n00b)" to this site but that really means nothing.

Rickio....I totally agree. I had a posted edited cuz I made up 2 phoney links in a stupid lil joke involving Jay Lenno's geeky buddy....he knows I was kidding so no harm done.

And I posted one link that was slightly bogus along with 2 totally fake ones.

It was like www.pooooooooooorn.dontclickhereifyourunder18!.com

But the stuff before and after the don't click crap was real so you could change it and use the link. And while I can sorta get the fact that they don't want porn links on here.....all three were bogus and unless you took the time to weed out 2 fake ones and figure out how to get to the last one it wasn't harming anyone. They would have HAD to work at it yet it still got edited and replaced with "Are you insane" I still don't get it....a joke is a joke and yall are starting to turn into UTC.....not you Rickio....but this place is becoming a drag. I'm starting to get why ya dislike it at times and why MoonMan took a leave of absence for awhile there...I too may take one. Since humor relevant to a thread gets deleted just because it looks 'wrong'. And seeing as ZP has Mod's calling people ******s and many other odd/racist/disgusting/ignorant crap being posted I wonder why I'm singled out for a stupid joke.....ZP is slowly turning into UTC and that's a shame....UTC bans left and right and stops every bull thread and ZP makes examples of a select few.....which is worse?

BTW I'm aware that the bogus links got redirected to crappy porn portals....but it's a joke if a person doesn't get that and clicks 'em....well they deserve what they get....

Heres the link.....
http://www.zeropaid.com/bbs/showthread.php?threadid=4742&perpage=15&pagenumber=3

As for newbies....some of 'em deserve the royal ass reaming they get and others ask stuff that's right on google....I mean shit! At a certain point you have to draw the line at posts that could be answered with a 2 second visit to google....

I've talked shit to afew noobies...but I still helped I didn't say "you suck! your stupid" I made long winded crap jokes then got right to there problem....

Later perhaps for good.

I dont know.... I dont remember ANYONE ever blasting me... not even once. well, unless you count that cat lenin in the leeching threads, but I dont. So. not all "noobs" (I wasnt when I first posted on ZP. according to my own reckoning I have been sharing and caring since before many here first heard their voice crack...) do get harrassed.

I think its not so much what you say but more HOW you say it... something for some of our more exciteable posters to keep in mind....

and as for 12345678910.... I remember a few (1? 2? 3??) posts from him that were uncalled for or whatever... he never seemed like a noob to me... In fact, if I had to bet I would say he probably has more knowledge than most of the ZP members, including some of the longer lasting members.

edit: CCSdude.... you must have posted that while I was writing (or maybe I just skipped it)... and I am only going to say this once. You are either full of shit or need to grow up since you seem not to understand the problems with that post (and others, not just yours). so which is it? I know that you are intelligent, you show it when you arent busy cursing, debasing women, talking about children, or making jokes that no one but 13 year olds laugh at. You know my feelings CCS< I hope that you also know that I sincerely mean that I know you are intelligent...

one last thing I am relatively sure of: You will never leave ZP, unless you find another site first. I was gone for maybe a week when you first posted here... I came back and you had 250 posts... that is insane, especialy since only perhaps 10% were worth the eye strain. So, the only conclusion I can draw is that you like the attention too much to leave, or you like to try and "shock" us with your sick version of humor. Im 23 years old, not much older than you chronologically.... but even still, if I had just the majority of your posts to judge by, you seem like a young child. Dude, respectfully, grow up.

Say whatever you would like about me, take potshots, flame, insult, ask questions... hell, call me a hypocrite. I dont care. I know who and what I am, and I know that what goes on here isnt important enough to make a drama out of. "Later. perhaps for good indeed." I make the odds 1 out of 1,000,000.

REALLY good point gorph. All of us I am sure at one point or another had something you posted taken wrong. i think that if people proof read their post there would be less flameing. And then poeple would catch some of the spelling\grammer\whatever mistakes and stuff that happen. i personally read over spelling mistakes, i am a horrable speller and tend to copy-&-paste my posts into Word and do a spell check to make sure. and that also gets me past the 190sec rule.
