I just have a quick question. I have a 56K modem w/ my ISP being Earthlink (best one around here if u ask me). I wanted to know if Emule or Edonkey or the general "donkey network" is good on 56K. Is it worth the d/l? And what are the pros and cons? Someone w/ knowledge of this, please let me know. I currently use Kazaa Lite, WinMx, and Blubster. All very good w/ 56K. Oh a bit of topic but I was wondering how u become a mod. And as a side note, where the hell is Diet K 2, the Final Release? Chip had posted on his website a couple weeks ago that it should be out that week..............so now 2 weeks later and still nothing. Anybody have some info on this. I would greatly appreciate it.

eDonkey/eMule network is very slow for 56k modem users, most of us that are on the network have high speed connection. So, unless you have patience & looking for mostly large high quality files (ie: movies, apps., games, etc), you may not like it!

you're right, k-lite, winmx, and blubster are great 56k programs, i dont know of any that are faster, but you could try shareaza, i have heard you can get decent results on 56k
as for being a mod......we have posters here that are over the 1000 mark and are still not ready to be mods, on the other side of that, there are posters with only a few hundred posts that are mods, so dont try and boost your post rates to get you closer to being a mod, if the time comes that you show you would be a good mod, i'm sure you will be contacted, also, occasionally there is a thread asking who wants to be a mod, they are sometimes picked from there, just take your time getting there
with dietk2, never used it, but i heard kazaa 2.02 somehow blocked some of it, maybe the delay has something to do with that

when i used to have dial up, i was using kazaalite with good results..
blubster is probrably good too for 56k-ers,although even though people in general seem to like it, it just didn't mesh well with my pc.However you may have good results!
Anyhoo, it comes down to you'll have to basically try programs out until you find the one you like best. Or do what a lot of us do and use one prog for software, one for music, ect...
as for #chip# and diet kazaa- it comes down to this, although i think chip makes great program alterations and such, he talks out his ass on due dates and when things will actually be done.He should just wait until he's done, then say to everyone, "oh, here, i'm done!". Sometimes i think chip may actually be a female the way he keeps stringing us guys along.lol
anyways,
good luck

Thanx guys. Your information was very helpful. And Phalkon dont worry I won't rack up my posts just for the sake of becoming a mod. LOL, I don't even think I have the dedication to be a mod. It was more out of just general curiosity. I average less than 1 post a day here. I'm just so bogged down w/ school and a buncha other shit in life. During my free time, I love to come here tho. It's a great forum for P2P users. I find you guys to be very funny and intelligent as well. You've answered my questions and have not given me much shit as other forums. Great People and Site = Excellent Community.

ONLY a few hundred posts? A little while ago it was something to have even 100 posts. Not until two months ago did 100 posts seem like nothing. :wings

Poster(S?!?!) LMFAO.....where does this S you speak of come from? :wings
As for Chip....I'm sorry if some of ya like him....but the guy bugs the hell outta me.
Has he released the source code yet? He said he would AGES ago along with DietK W/ Lemon for FREE....yet that hasn't been done either. I don't even use DK and I still can't stand it....
Plus the one time I tried it I was lmfao at the cheesy lay out and frequent lockups.....it's a shoddy program at best IMHO. Now I'm not saying he couldn't do better....he prolly can. It's just annoying to hear crap due dates and rave reviews on a mediocre program.....
I'd say stick with Kazaa Lite....most other P2P programs have a bandwidth draining protocol....
As for being a mod.....well, I donno....the last one (before Yoda) was pretty bad.....so I donno how they pick 'em....maybe outta 'ah hat? LOL
I'm to lazy to be one even though I come here a lot...plus I get pissed off easily but if ZP was in need of one (and I was the only choice....lmfao MoonMan would be better along with afew others) I'd try my best to keep my sick sense of humor/temper under control to keep ZP 'otay' for the kiddos....
