I doubt thereīs any way to get rid of it, but even if there is one, I still donīt see the point.
What you could do is simply not use it...
Minimize Shareaza and open the files on WMP...thatīs not too hard...

Shareaza kicks ass! Don't think you can get rid of it. A lot of networks have the media player for your convenience to preview them while downloading & have easy access to your files so you don't have to open up another program to do it. Less programs, less hassle, better convenience. May I ask why?

Settings / media playe
Switch off the option which says "use shareaza media player to open files"
And "use ... to enqueue files"

i agree, i also don't see any point of getting rid of it. it's not like it does something harmful to you computer or anything like that.

Jojoha is correct... also, to stop Shareaza from loading the player entirely:

Shut down Shareaza.
Go to your plugins folder (usually c:\program files\shareaza\plugins )
Rename "MediaPlayer.dll" to "MediaPlayer.bak"
Launch Shareaza. Even if it *wants* to load the player, it can't, saving you some valuable memory.

Dude, why would you want to get rid of the media player? I love it!! The smart preview is awesome, it's very fast, AND there is no hassle with opening another program and wasting resources for it... I love it!!! But if you want to really not use it, as johoja said, uncheck the box that says " use media player to open files". Anyway, The media player is awesome!!

Not when it crashes whenever I try to play an MPEG or OGG... and this is a problem with the OGG and MPEG codecs (MPEG codec? hmmm) so Mike can't fix it.

Sorry, I'm sticking with BSPlayer :error

Ha! I dont know what you are doing, but for me MPEG and OGG work fine on that player. You must be doing something wrong or your codecs suck... lol[

I had the same problems Ashitaka, you just need to update all your codecs. You can get em from here:

http://www.doom9.org/

(Grab the ogg filters)

i think shareaza's media player is great, esp. the speed adjuster. but when it doesn't ever play the whole song... i dont like using it, i use winamp, a huge shuffled playlist, and i dont wanna pause it to listen to a 'smart preview'... so i turned off the media player.
