View Full Version : How to get kicked off a crappy tracker (funny)

As a result of spending WAYYY too much time on the open sign-up thread I've gathered a nice collection of crappy trackers to abuse as I see fit. I had a particularly interesting confrontation on one (Let's just say it rhymes with Spalliwag's). To set the stage, this tracker has less than 800 files and no more than 5 seeders on ANY of them.
So, I got a message from a from a brand new mod warning me that if I didn't re-seed a torrent I might get an automatic HNR warning. I replied back, asking why he had to go around throwing out warinings instead of just letting the HNR system do it's job. He'd seriously been a member a grand total of 7 days and a mod for 15 hours, so I figured I'd call him on his ego trip. Here's the response from the Staff Leader:

ive warned you for 4 weeks,
1st a mod is willing to give you a chance to seed before you get a warning then you give him attitude, Rule #1(Do not defy the staffs expressed wishes!) you broke that rule.(2 week warning)
2nd. you hit and ran on [A PUBLIC DOMAIN FILM, NOTHING ILLEGAL] you snatched this 15d12h and only seeded for 2d14h. Seeding rules are as follows, seed to 1:1 ratio or for 72hrs within a 10 day period. you have failed to do so (2 week warning)
this is how i came up with the 4 week warning.
If you would like to explain yourself by all means pm me

And here's the reply that got my account disabled:

So I came up 10 hours short and you're going to drive me away because of it? No offense, but you're being assanine. Why not just let the HNR system do it's job? Why have a mod (whose been a member a whole week and a mod for 15 hours) run around harassing people? It's nothing but an ego trip. Now you've climbed aboard with your "warning".
This site has a grand total of less than 800 files on it. If you're trying to grow a positive community then why run around giving warnings. I joined this site because I thought it looked alright. I can easily fall back on my <I list my high end tracker accounts and 3.0 or higher ratio on each here> accounts if you don't want my kind (regular donors).
Every one of those trackers is MUCH more elite than this site with a much larger variety (and I donate to ALL of them, as I would have done here once it got worth paying for). If you want your site to grow, don't be an ass. Now, can you guess where you can stick your 4 week warning?
Explain to me why you have to go throwing your weight around handing out "warnings" that nobody gives two shits about. Can you do that?
BTW: what "wish" of the mod did I defy to break rule #1? Not Re-seeding when requested? That falls under the HNR rule, hence double jeopardy (I can't be punished twice for the same crime, can I?)

Fuck 'em. Not that you shouldnt seed or operate within site rules, but even I cant seed some shit back, because quite frankly, it's obscure crap that no one in return wants to download. Availables yes, but that doesnt raise ones ratio.
That's what you get for signing up for shitty trackers ran on some POS client box down in their mommy's basement.
I'm glad you posted this, it's a topic that needs to be addressed. I can't police all the BT trackers sites, but there are plenty of stinkers out there. Posting nastygrams from these Aholes might give some of out newer members perspective.
PM me the site please, that name sounds familiar. I've had to tell more than one site recently to eat my shorts.

I got disabled from x264 for being member at a "trading forum" and receiving my invite in a giveaway. Didn't matter that I never ever traded.
You can say fine, it's against the rules, but the thing is that this didn't happen just after getting the invite. I had been a good member there for over 6 months. Not a single infraction, just like every other site I am member of. I mean positive ratio, seeded every torrent for at least two weeks, sometimes longer or way over 1.0 ratio, even wrote "thank you" and sometimes commented on the movie in the comments of the torrent I grabbed.
The admin even offered to reinvite me if I quit all "trading forums" but that is not an option since I use forums for networking, so they can keep their (I wish I could say shitty but I would be lying) tracker with it's controlling staff.

You would think small sites wanted to grow..

Get a bunch of crappy trackers. Leech like no tomorrow and screw em! Though that does break the community... Though that admin is a complete fail. Site only grow if they have uploaders in the content you want and staff that doesn't suck and know what they are doing.

Funny thing is, that mod's probably PM'ing everyone he knows telling them how he "took care" of a guy who tried to challenge his authority. Somebody's gotta get these kids laid before they become college campus shooters. I guess now I'll have to sign up again at work and use some ratio spoofing software I have on them. I can leave the thing on all night downloading and not giving back (there's no way these noobs have coded their site to detect the latest updates). That'll fuck up their precious ratio.
Anybody want to join my little party? Here's the link: http://www.scaliwags.org/signup.php Unless you're joining purely to screw with them I suggest saving your time. As you can see from the above post, it took me 15d12h just to download a DVD5. Painfully slow, idiot mods, less than 800 torrents (none with more than 5 seeders). What more could you want?

Scalliwags was a great tracker before they crashed.
Guess you should have followed the rules instead of bitching about them...

You're right, I should have. I could still be a member. :icon_scra
Guess you didn't read the whole post. They have a HNR tracker that works. There was no point for a brand new mod to go doing the exact same thing. Why run around giving people an excuse to get pissed off? Maybe you didn't notice that the torrent was running for a total of 18 days before I finally pulled the plug (15.5 to download and another 2.5 seeding). I don't cap my seeds, so if anyone wanted it they could have had my full 230kbs (steady) upload speed.
[230kbs x 60 seconds x 60 minutes x 24 hours x 18 days = potentially over 350GB of availability] Even assuming I was logged off half the time and had 10 other torrents uploading at the same time, that's still 17GB.
I am highly honorable to the trackers that are actually providing something. Here's a quick sampling of my accounts:

If you're a member, you'll reckognize the trackers by header. There are a few more, all similar in ratio. I'm just too lazy to screen cap them. Obviously I'm not one to take advantage of the community, except when it's a shithole site run by adolescent morons on a power trip. This would have never happened at any of the trackers I use regularly, because it doesn't take 18 days to seed back to 100%. I also avoid forums/postings like the plague on those sites, because I know all it takes is one moron to misconstrue your intent to get you banned. If you give a kid (even 19 or 20) carte blanche to reprimand people with impunity, 9 times out of 10 you're going to have trouble. Especially when you're dealing with techno geeks who've spent their entire lives in front of a keyboard and have developed virtually no social skills. Give them the first authority they've ever had in their pathetic lives and *PRESTO!* custom-made ego trip.
Scalliwags was a great tracker before they crashed. I respect your loyalty, but there are a lot of things that used to be great. It's not the same anymore, time to move on.

I'm hoping that you photoshopped your name in those proofs as if its the same, if you screw up (trading giving away invites) kiss your account goodbye.

Nope, what would be the point? Most people with multiple accounts use the same username, myself included. I'm guessing you are 'GuyFawks' at at least one of your torrent sites (all of them if I had to bet). Even if I removed it you could easily guess my ID by looking at my name here. Besides, I don't break their rules. Ask me for an invite...No. See what I mean? Hell, I didn't even post anything that gives the site's URLs away (the only way you'd know is if you're a member and reckognized the headers).

Thats interesting. So did I... except I was involved in a trade. They expend a lot of energy to prevent this stuff when in fact they sometimes kick valuable contributors. It's generally accepted to be a level 2 tracker with good content. It's their rule so I accept it without complaint.... but the truth be told... it's about controlling invites which = $$ to them. It has nothing to do with keeping the community protected.

Nah it had nothing to do with $. Their admin is a control freak. I spent an hour discussing the situation with him and if I had stopped using filesharing forums, he would have invited me back. That's not really something he can decide, so he can keep his tracker. I do fine without it.
Also most people don't condone trading, including me, so your situation is in no way similar.

So it's ok to give away invites to anyone who wants one but it's frowned upon to trade between active members of different communities?

Awful generous. I keep a solid 1.0-2.0, and will seed things for 2 weeks, or a 7-1 ratio... and then I'll burn it on shit that I want, and fuck my ratio.

Nope not ok either. I giveaway invites to people who deserve them, not ones that beg for them. Also I usually would not give away any invite to someone I don't know is a good user on other sites, And I don't mean screenshots and speedtests.
Exceptions would of course be close offline friends that aren't used to private trackers. They usually just need a bit of coaching.
