My friend was talking to someone one winmx and they said they use a program called lobster that lets you give users a subscription so to speak so they can cue up on you and start right away regardless of number in cue.... that way if someone gets disconnected or timed out they can cue up again and they will be automatically started again. my friend got the program from this guy but he has missplaced most of the files and all we have is a .DAT file...... has anyone heard of such a "utility" for winmx?
Thanks
Benny
by the way... the DAT file is 56k so i cannot attach it... bye!

That sounds interesting. I wouldn't pay for p2p, though. If you really like WinMX, I guess, but I think Blubster is WAY better.:tilted

Sounds like a p2p urban myth...like there is a way to make a 56k modem dl at 40KB/s crap.
There is a program called Lopster..its a linux opennap p2p client. really good , and with really good features, but nothing to do with winmx.
Only WinMX utilities im aware of is NapMX (and others like it mxnapper, napimx, napigator ert) for adding opennp servers.
MXtool, copies winmx windows to text, but its REALLY buggy.
Last but not least, MXLinx, its a good start in the anti leech situation..and it can b set to search for more sources every 5 minutes instead of 10.
I realize most of this is not relative to what u asked, but Thats about it for WinMX tools.

I donīt know shit about Lopster.
But Soulseek has a similar feature : for each 5$ donation you make, you get "download privileges", which turns out to be something like that...you queue up a file, and, if you have privileges, you get in front of everybody who hasnīt made a donation.
Works good for those whoīve donated, snice only around 0,5% of the users have actually donated.

lopster is an opennap client (I've heard it's the best ) but it's made for Linux. For window$, the best opennap clients are WinMx and Rapigator. But if you want mainstream music don't use opennap but any other client that's easier to use. Stick with kazaalite or those crappy ( for me ) programs.
