I'm not sure if this the correct place to post this. I had a look at the BitTorrent Torrent Tracker page, but the site I'm talking about is actually a search engine, rather than a tracker.

iTorrent (http://itorrent.co.uk) is a new search engine specifically geared towards Mac applications and games. Instead of page scraping the site relies, for the most part, on RSS feeds for its information. This helps to keep server load down and usually ensures valid torrent links!

Things of note from the site FAQ:

* iTorrent is Mac-specific.
* iTorrent does not host/store or serve torrent files in any capacity.
* iTorrent is a search engine, not a torrent/tracker site.
* iTorrent never links directly to torrent files

I thought I'd just post about it here as the site is relatively new! Hope this doesn't offend anyone!

Hmm... why would we be offended?

Demonoid had a very active Mac section (sadly gone now). Waffles and TPB have pretty frequent Mac apps posted (better on Waffles, since it's a private tracker, but at least there is a lot of activity on TPB). I'm curious to check this out, but tend to prefer the better behavior (and better feeling of security) on private trackers. I would presume a "search engine" like this is only going to reference stuff on the public trackers. Anyway, I'm off to check out iTorrent... thanks for the tip!

UPDATE: Looks good! :icon_salu ... I've added it to my bookmarks of BitTorrent tracker sites (and other relevant stuff —*btw I usually have each bookmark set to open directly to the "browse" page and use "open in tabs" for that bookmark folder whenever I want to see what's new. It's a nice, quick way to check up on things. Of course I also customize my "profile" page on each site to give me 100 torrent listings per page and to only show categories I might download from. Generally that means that I can see more than a day's torrent listings, all on one page.)

Visitors to the site may have got a few errors messages today. I was updating the code to add a few new features. You can now order search results alphabetically or by number of seeders / leechers. There's also now a 'latest' link that'll show you the 25 latest torrents spidered and a new tag cloud that shows popular search terms.
