Ok. I know, I know...........you guys will all be asking why I don't use EAC. But for the record I've tried. I don't know why it would not rip well. I gave it a shot on my system and it didn't do to well. When it did rip songs, it did an excellent, clear job, but lots of the time it would have errors trying to rip my Cds and would only rip about half of them. I've tried configuring it and I also uninstalled and reinstalled twice. Anyway, so now I've been looking at some up and coming rippers. You know, ones that do a good job, fairly fast @ 192 kbps. I've tried out CDex, Neo Audio, and Free Rip. Out of those 3 choices, which one would u guys choose? I like them all for different reasons, but I chose Neo Audio myself. It's a Free Rip clone but I like the interface better. And the spyware is easy enuff to remove. Here's my dilemma besides the EAC shit: When using Free Rip and Cdex, I always give it the directory to put the ripped files in. But when I go to access the file, its always in a folder w/ the artist's name. So then I have to click on that folder and then click on more things depending on how the labeled it. In options, I specifically tell it to only put aritst - song title. I don't want any extra folders. I want it directly inserted into My Shared Folder. No folders, no mess. This isn't a huge problem, but it's just annoying and time consuming to go back and copy all the songs. I am very methodical w/ the way I do things. Does anyone who uses either proggie or have had experience w/ it know how to fix this? Is this default and there is now way to change this folder crap? I hope I explained it well enuff. I just want the .mp3 file put into My Shared Folder directly, w/out any folders and whatnot. Thanx for any help in advance. OH BTW, I am running Win Xp w/ SP1 on an HP Pavilion 7935.

Back again......Just wanted to tell u that I also use Domino Player. It has a built in ripper but I can honestly tell you it sucks. But damn the ripper is great. I love the equalizer even tho the interface is bland and uhh lets see.......not very appeasing. If anyone knows how to solve my EAC probs, folder probs, or can direct me to a different, better ripper...........Please Do! Gracias.

LOL> I earlier said that the ripper in Domino sucks, which is TRUE. But then I came back and said it was good. Kinda contradictory dont ya think? So let me get this straight.......the ripper does suck, but I like the player....takes up very little resources, nice features. If anyone has any info on how to solve my EAC probs, folder probs, or can direct me to a new, better ripper.....Please do. Gracias.

I like cdex and a good cd burning app with a built in cd ripper is cdmate. cdmate is very good and you would probably like it.
go try it and if you need a reg key to keep it let me know.

cdex is the best of the ones you mentioned not including eac.
oh the situation you explained with cdex is the default config. I think you can change it but I never have.
just take a good look at the configuration tab, I am sure you can change it.

Uummmm.........Being as that the CD was brand new, I find it hard to believe that it was anything of my doing. I don't see how I could have screwed up the ripping in EAC. Even Jill the Ripper did better than EAC on my comp, and that POS is wretched. So that coaster shit is pretty much irrelevant at this point. That was the first thing that I ruled out. There's not a single mark on it, so I know it must be some other problem. Now I'm not saying I'm flawless so I'm gonna look around in my computer configuration and take a look at EAC. I've heard some great things about and am anxious to use it correctly. I just need to take some time to solve the problem. Oh and I'm also using that quintessential guide that the one dude made. I'm following everything written in there. (I think his name is CSmyden or sumthin similar.) But sound quality are good in the Big 3 that I have right now: CDex, Neo Audio, and Free Rip. :shy

No hard feelings grab_grab. Thanx for that link; I'll go check that out. But when worst comes to worst, I'll be using my big 3 to rip @ 192 kbps, where I can't get hear any discrepancy between CD and mp3. Aiite thanx dawg.
