This problem doesn't seem to have been addressed here at the forums, so I thought I'd bring it up. I copied this summary from a comment by BerlinCanary on versiontracker.com since it's a better description of the problem than I could come up with:
"When I start it under a fully updated 10.3.9, after the splash screen disappears, a small window slides up in the bottom right of the screen: "Error Initialize MainWindow NoClassDefFoundError" and a mostly black Azureus window is displayed. The previous version worked flawlessly (so far as I could tell). I trashed all existing Azureus files I could find, reinstalled from the .dmg and restarted, but still the same error. Seems that it's causing a Java crash as I have a JavaApplicationStub.crash.log:
Date/Time: 2007-12-23 13:38:24 +0100
OS Version: 10.3.9 (Build 7W98)
Report Version: 2
Command: JavaApplicationStub
Path: /Applications/Azureus.app/Contents/MacOS/JavaApplicationStub
Version: 3.0.4.2 (3.0.4.2)
PID: 453
Thread: Unknown
Link (dyld) error:
dyld: /Applications/Azureus.app/Contents/MacOS/JavaApplicationStub can't open library: /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.5.0/Libraries/libframeembedding.jnilib (No such file or directory, errno = 2)
Presumably this means it's looking for Java 1.5, which is not available for 10.3.9 so far as I am aware. Leastways, I have 1.4.2 "
I don't know much about coding or betaing, but if someone here could figure out why this is happening or any possible fixes, I'm sure many 10.3.9 users would be grateful. For now, I guess I'll just try out Azureus 2.5
