Got on to this website by accident:

From Computeract!ve

"We’re giving away the commercial version of AVG Anti-Virus 7.5 Professional, a full security utility."

http://www.computeractive.co.uk/avg/index

Cheers :icon_thum

to good to be true?

Sounds like it. Too bad (just for a sec) that I removed the McAfee Advisor, as I would like to be able to say, "PINK SITE! PINK SITE!"

Why not just go to GRISOFT, AVG's home page and install
AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition 7.5 (http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/us/frt/0?prd=aff), AVG Anti-Spyware Free Edition 7.5 (http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/us/frt/0?prd=asf),
and toss in the AVG Anti-Rootkit (Free (http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/us/frt/0?prd=arw)) and remain just as secure?

Better yet, set the computer clock back, or do a system restore for year after year and head for PC World.com's " (http://www.pcworld.com/browse/1443/topic.html?page=1#%5B/url)Privacy & Security (http://www.pcworld.com/browse/1443/topic.html?page=1#%5B/url)" page (dl'ing their trials of AV's, anti malware appz and suites)?

How bout dat and sorry bout da bold (copy/paste)...

+1 on Helena, those 3 tools will provide adequate security, just don't be a tool when you are on the net and you can avoid alot of it.

Seems to be definite spam, when it's agreed the product is great...yet the poster has never tried it.

Other than prostitution, the only thing I can suggest is stop posting ipod and avi conversion links every day.

At this point, you look like you get paid to post that advertisement, which means you're r e a l l y close to a ban.

Take your spam and scram.

Krell she would have to give it away. This is Zeropaid. Why would we want to pay for it?

Avira is one of the best, one of the highest detection ratings, and less problems then NOD32 and KAV.

Anti-Virus opinions are like assholes...everybody has one. I find it disturbing that so many people will say AVG is the best, never had a virus in two years. and then the next dude says, oh no, Kaspersky is the best, it's even rated the highest in most reviews. and then someone else comes along and says, Avast is better than all of them, it uses hardly any resources. No, nod32 is better cause my dad says so.

Do you catch my drift? If so, please provide facts to back up your lame opinions and don't give us some review that was paid for by the company trying to promote their software.

For the record, muh man, my experience IS
... AVG is the best, never had a virus in two years....

I have had Avast, Norton, McAfee, and Bit Defender. So...
*muah and w00t*!!

One of the most helpful posts on this thread. On the subject of AVG (http://free.grisoft.com/), one major annoyance I've experienced is the fact that at every startup, AVG does all these automatic updates. I mean, great - updates. But from what my beady little noob eyes can see - there is no way to change the setting to have these updates install at some other time. But that is a minor annoyance compared with its performance.

I'm glad to see that the new version is out. Here (http://www.pcpro.co.uk/reviews/191715/) is a link to a review of it at PC Pro. It got two full stars more than the last.:icon_cycl

my main gripe with AVG is the way its heuristic analysis works, and this holds true for ver 8 too. it sees things that just aren't there. this is a pain if you've ever tried 0 day apps, but it's still the best free option by a country mile.
