Shareaza Registration

Hello every one, I am brand new to this and I hope that I may be able to help others as well as be helped.
The second is why I have joined, I suppose. I have been using Shareaza for quite some tiime now and found it to be very good, however, a couple of days ago the software went down for some reason and I could not get anything to work.
I went looking on the web and I found an update which I duly loaded, however, I now have an issue that when I try to download, I am asked for a registration key. I know I must have this from the first time of purchase but I am afraid that was quite some time ago and I have lost / forgotten this key.
My question however, is, if I have already purchased and used this software, and it is truly, as it says a one time purchase, then why do I need to supply a registration key.?

Best bet may be to write them and ask for the key. They should have your registration info somewhere...

I'm a long time user of Shareaza myself. Currently using 2.2.5.0 version

Version 2.3.0.0 was released Dec 1st 2007

I've never been asked for a reg key. Plus you say purchased ????? All the sites I've seen plus in the app itself as stated the product is for free.

So, I sugguest you uninstall what you got, then go to one of the two links above for a free download.

Yes indeed Shareaza is no longer and hasnt been for sometime involved with the domain shareaza.com

In fact from what I've heard the version you must purchase from there has some sort of adware/spyware in it.

Shareaza is open source and is and shall always be free. To get shareaza ,as mentioned above, go to http://shareaza.sourceforge.net/

Dump any version of shareaza the request a key/registration #. Its not the real deal.
