Hi all,
I am facing a small problem here and I am sure someone of you would be of help! Some AVI movie files I download do not convert through Nero. Nero just seems to stop trying to convert them. It only happens on a very small percentage of AVI Movie files, 1 out of 50. I think this might be because of improper codec used in the AVI movie! In addition, when I try to convert these to MPEG or VCD, the sound goes out of sync with the picture. I am looking a program that can get me rid of these two problems. Does anyone know a good program for converting video files without losing the sound or synchronization with the picture?
Thanks in advance!

Try ConvertXtoDVD.
Here's the guide... (http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/vso_convertxtodvd_guide.cfm)

Probably a lazy bitfield in the audio codec that's causing it to drift out of sync.
Your best bet would be to decompress the audio first then re-encode the film with the uncompressed audio.

Hi,
I recently came across a site called http://www.avi-to-mpeg.net/ that provides AVI to MPEG conversion software & their reviews. You also can learn how to convert AVI to MPEG video format and read reviews of popular AVI to MPEG converter software. Hope this will help you. Good Luck and Happy Holidays!!

Firstly:
Melodycan is only viable for audio conversions (with very limited support for QT movs and WMVs).
Secondly:
It would involve lossy -> lossy transcoding
Thirdly:
Stripping DRM isn't legal, even if you think it is.
Forthly:
There are freeware apps that do a much better job than this paid-for-POS.
The original question related to audio-drift, this particular app is neither relevant, nor up to the job.

There is no drm protected avi files, they always are m4v, wmv, etc.
are you using nero 8? I prefer nero 7, it worked better than 8. you can also try this video to dvd burner (http://www.dvd-ripper-copy.com/video-to-dvd.html) instead.

Spam bots are such a pain... Maybe there should be a new rule before you can post links.
