Hey, this is Zeropaid. I assume I'm not the first guy to ask about this. That car is not that cool BTW.

SilentNight MicroBurner
I have several thumbdrives full of portables, and I need lots of lightweight tools at my disposal.
This is what I use and highly recomend.

What OS are you on? That would help.

It depends on what your needs are.
For iso burning on Windows I use imgburn as linked to above.
If you're using Linux, K3b is my choice on that os.

I'm downloading Diablerie's Portable Suite v0.8 for USB portable flash drive, it includes lots of freewares, etc. including CD/DVD burning software! :)

I'm on XP and I only have 256 ram so I guess I'd prefer something that doesn't use a lot of system resources. But, I'd also like to be sure I have the most well-functioning software that I possibly can.
EDIT: Oh yeah, and it's very important that it be able to burn dvds that can play on a standard DVD player. Do the aforementioned programs have that feature?

I use DVD Decrypter for images (both dvd and cd).
still use nero for movies and such, as the encoding software I have uses it easily.

Funny how your asking about free software on "Zeropaid". If you think about it, for people with our resources isn't all software free? If you really want a free program I'd start my search at download.com. You can usually find a good assortment of freeware there.

DLiver420, you just reminded me about another great site to get software: Oldversion.com
For any of you that don't always want the latest and greatest (buggy) software, this is the place to get older builds of your favorite software. Check it out, one of my favorites.
