I was on Afterdawn and just read about this.....
The infamous Dutch anti-piracy group BREIN has now gotten the web host LeaseWeb to take down several more torrent trackers, and this time the names are very recognizable.
For those interested in what sites are hosted by LeaseWeb, here is a list, with some very noticeable names. btjunkie.org, seedpeer.com, torrentleech.org, mybittorrent.com, btmon.com, sumotorrent.com, what.CD, waffles.fm, hdbits.org, bitenova.nl, torrentportal.com, monova.org, not to mention dozens more smaller sites.
Here is the link if anybody wants it

When did torrentleech become something worth taking down? It's just about as average as any torrent site could get.

Well, Torrentleech has a large memerbase, and has been around a long time. On top of that they are pay to leech and get money throug various other services like vip accounts. Anyways, this "breaking news" is actually a few days old.

Anti-piracy look at user # as important when targeting sites..makes sense doesn't it.

Oink was about the best thing since my beloved "Audiogalaxy". Torrentleech has nothing I can't get elsewhere. Member base or not.
Sorry to sound harsh as I really like your avatar.

OMG....Audiogalaxy was the shit! That calming blue background filled to the eyeballs with tons of cool tunes. Almost forgot about that place....dam that was like 2001 or 2002 when it was really bustling right?

No, you didn't sound harsh at all. In fact, I completely agree with you. I was just saying why it was a large target. I am not a big fan of torrentleech and dissapprove of a great many things they do. Your very righ that you can get everything on that site on just about any scene release site, and without those crappy wait times.

I've spent several hours getting to know waffles and what! It sure would annoy the crap out of me to have to start all over.

Same here, I loved demonoid for all my music and movie torrents....I'd always wanted to get into oink.cd, but never got in before it got shut down....now I'm left with access to only supertorrents.org and proaudiotorrents.org.
hopefully with time I'll get into what.cd/waffles.fm and/or back into stmusic.org (as I lost access to stmusic b/c my Internet was down for a couple weeks consistently right when i got my account, and it was deactivated, presumably b/c of inactivity).
