Anyone know of a good audiobook torrent tracker? I've heard of ebookvortex but I was under the impression that they didn't have audiobooks, just ebooks.

I had always relied on demonoid for audiobooks, but they are under the weather. I have been following the open signup thread, but none of the sites I've joined have much to offer in the way of audiobooks or ebooks.
Would appreciate any suggestions for sites with audiobooks.

I haven't heard of a dedicated tracker to audiobooks. If I come across one or a site with a nice selection, I'll let you know, roftk.

The Pirate Bay (http://www.Thepiratebay.org)
has an audiobook section. Not much selection wise though... but maybe will have what your looking for.

I too would like a dedicated ebook/audio book site for all my learning needs. I usually just google the title and add torrent at the end in the search: "titleOfBook torrent"

Okay, I hope this is not against the rules (double posting). I know I read somewhere it was, but I've joined so many new sites the past few days that I'm seeing tunnel. I just can't remember if it was here so if it is LMK and it won't happen again. I wanted this thread topped cause I'm still searching mightily for a good audiobook site. If anyone knows of any and could post here, I'd be most appreciative.:icon_thum

if you could be more informative about what type of files you would like then we could narrow the search down a bit if its just for the usual mp3 etc.

Jeez, this is where I realize how computer illiterate I am. I can explain it only like this. I used to look through Demons audiobooks and find one I thought I liked and then download. I would then put it on itunes (ipod). Sometimes I would notice it doing some type of conversion so I'm thinking most any (type of files) would do. Sorry, I know most of you probably wonder how we (the comp illiterate) manage. TIA for any help

FileMP3 Doesn't have any audio books..
The Other sites listed are invite only right now. trying to trade invites isn't going to be easy since the most wanted invites that i had don't exist now(oink)
Since demoniod and oink have been down I have been having to search all over mininova, isohunt, pirate bay and other random open sites but they all normally have the same things that have been passed around.
:icon_scra
Anybody else have any suggestions?

That information is not known by myself. Make one, show some initiative, call it "www.audio-book-torrent.cameroon" or something. You need only the WILL POWER and some books.

Everything (audiobooks) that were on Demonoid came from somewhere else (sometimes news groups) and always Hubs which are places that still contain most of the demonoid audio books and more - only problem is they are quite secretive and its tricky finding many - its a form of filesharing where you let others see and browse your audiobook folder (5gb minimum usually) and they let you browse and download theirs - the places are known as Hubs and they are accessed via DC++ a search on DC++ or Hubs and audiobooks at google might give you a few clues.

wow there sure are a lot of noob threads sniffing for audiobook trackers. i wonder if the publishing companies are looking to sue. they should really be a lot less obvious about it though. what are the odds that 4 random new users would come in asking about audiobook trackers?
seriously, who gives a shit about audiobooks?

me, the death of demonoid, it was the only place us noobs knew where to get these books, now we have to try a bit harder. doubt they will ever sue, can you just see the headlines "person fined x-amount for downloading a book or comic" (crap quality as well) its never going to get publicity and thats all the anti-piracy goons want. :icon_pira

Count me as one who cares. I spend a good portion of my working day traveling and audiobooks are great for breaking the boredom. Also, I work for a landscaping company, no publisher here.

My Oupa is about there as well and we love listening to audiobooks. He likes things like Hemingway, Joyce and other German and Dutch authors (I don't know their names) Audiobooks are also great to stick on your iPod so when you are travelling its something to listen too. I love them. I grabbed a rare copy of Neuromancer off waffles. :icon_pira Great stuff!

the place has loads, but more for the self-help side of things. i've been a member for ages, and got some quality stuff to listen on the train. been on it so long i got several perks. it's quite big community, with lots of stuff to download.

Hi,
I was on what.cd when I first got started with torrents and let my ratio go south and was banned before I understood the rules. what.cd was an awesome site and I am still kicking myself for my carelessness. I would love to get back on what.cd and anyother site that is equivalent or similar.
Thanks,

Everyone know about the Free Audiobooks. Most are public domain or low quality audiobooks. Anytime anyone mention Audiobooks anywhere in the torrent community, people post the same free sites. Most people don't care about these free audiobooks sites.
Most everyone here is looking for the latest audiobooks from new releases and recently release books you find in Amazon books stores, from popular authors, latest business books, etc.

try http://conspiracycentral.net or
textbooktorrents there may not be audio books but there are a lot of books in general w/learning info. Besides, if you read the whole book out loud and record it then upload it, that can be the beginning of an "online reputation" as the dude who makes audio book torrents.
Come on man

Recently I have seen a spike in people looking for audiobooks, maybe someone will get the idea into their heads and we'll finally have our dedicated site.
