Google's new android is a new revlutionary OS that can run on almost any relatively new phone. They also have recently announced their SDK for android last weekend which can be found here (http://code.google.com/android/)


Google is ready to unveil a suite of software for mobile phones based on open-source technology, backed by some of the largest wireless industry companies in the world.

Don't expect to see a Google phone, or Gphone, on store shelves anytime soon. And in such a large project with so many different players, plans and some details could still change over the weekend. It's unclear when the final version will be released. Google has repeatedly declined to talk about the Gphone or confirm the Monday event.

An open source & Linux mobile OS, would indeed be interesting. Instead of pre-packaged of applications on a phone, maybe one can be customized in the future! I like it! :icon_thum

mm and the best thing is you can customize EVERYTHING, from the main menu to the standby screen, it can all be interchageable!

Microsoft took one in the nuts today as Sony Erickson and several big names came out for Google-Android. It seems they like the fact that it is small, fast and open source. At the very least you don't have to be dependent on a third party..

I own the T-mobile G1, google's first android phone. Its a really fantastic device, the interchangeablitity of my home screen as well as the very user friendly ui make this a great phone.:icon_thum
