Interesting. Moonsorrow sounds sort of the like if the Devil did a river dance and spoke in German. Who said a flute can't be played in a death metal band? Honestly, they kind of sound a little like Jethro Tull. I kinda like it.
Circus Maximus is an odd one, never heard of them. They sound little 80's Big Hair but I'll give it listen.
Any particular Madball album you prefer as there are many posted.
I would recommend Katatonia("Last Fair Deal Gone Down" and "The Great Cold Distance" are both good albums) Not quite as heavy as what you guys are listening too but pretty dark.
Anyways, good post.

Moonsorow are amazing, the melodies are catchy yet addictive as hell, with a heavy theme and rhythm, growl singing and more stuff which makes this a classic.
If you are going to try Circus maxmimus, make sure to try their first Album, as their second resembles more to an AOR or Hard rock music.
"The 1st Chapter" is really is a great, heavy and Proggy album.
I have Viva emptiness by katatonia, funny thing is I didn't gave it a spin yet, silly me.
but thanks for your recommendations, I will check them out in the future :icon_thum

Wow, where do I start. I love all Metal except what I consider the scourge of the genre, Metalcore and Nu Metal. I can't even begin to list my favorite metal artists/albums. I will try though.
In no particular order:
1. Slayer - Reign in Blood
2. At the Gates - Slaughter of the Serpent Soul
3. Celtic Frost - Monotheist
4. Dissection - Reinkaos
5. Cannibal Corpse - Hammer Smash Face

i think that Kamelot is more power than progressive metal

I dunno....I've seen people with opinions on both sides. The majority I've spoken with would say progressive.
Not that it really matters, though.
Even Kamelot can't make up their minds, as a quote directly from their website says, “We play power metal as much as progressive metal and gothic metal.”

My humble suggestion is Bismuth (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bismuth):
Bismuth is a chemical element (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chemical_element) that has the symbol Bi and atomic number (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atomic_number) 83. This heavy, brittle, white crystalline trivalent poor metal (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poor_metal) has a pink tinge and chemically resembles arsenic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arsenic) and antimony (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antimony). Of all the metals, it is the most naturally diamagnetic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diamagnetism), and only mercury (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercury_%28element%29) has a lower thermal conductivity (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thermal_conductivity).

This is the greatest thread I have I have read!
Moonsorow is brilliant yet somewhat repetitive.
I never heard of Katatonia before yesturday but is now quite easily my new favorite band for the moment, the song Leaders and "Do they know" are second to none but the Viva Emptiness album is actually boring as hell, sorry but it is.
Currently downloading Captain-America's list.
