Speaks out for the first time on IRC and in an interview with the Telegraph about his arrest, the merits of the case against him, and what former users can expect in the future. .

It's been 3 days now since Alan Ellis, the 24yo admin of OiNK was busted, and the site's servers seized. Since then, many of us have been wondering what happened to him as well as what's in store for users of the site.

Well, in a recent chat on IRC he answered a few questions about his arrest and the the status of OiNK's users logs.

<sretsof> what was the stupidest question they asked?

It good to hear that Alan Ellis is out on bail and that He was smart enough to keep what was recorded to a minimum to protect all of his loyal users... I read the logs from the IRC channel and yes people never seem to amaze as to what they will say....

I thought that a bittorrent tracker is the same has a server. Data can be stored or passed along the network or even connect 2 or more people together. The way the law enforcement go on about trackers is that they host the content, which in actual fact they host a file that all's 2 or more people to connect to each other and trasmit data across the server. If this is right this means the likes off MSN, Yahoo and any other instant messaging software can also be prosecuted for simular things. These instant messengers allow users to share files to each other via there servers. So say a firend sends anyother friends a music file this means that they are sharing copyright material, because it's being done across there server which i would imagine creates a temp file so it can be shared.
