also stmusic has over 12000 tracks not as many as oink with over 200000 but still some content there other then that i would use shareaza.com its a client with guntella 1/2 and edonkey servers it connects too very good toy to play with for music

I've been a lossless music collector for some years now, and I have to say that no tracker has beaten Edonkey for that type of stuff.

Of course I'm talking about Edonkey + E2K links forums.

I've just joined Oink a few days ago and I found they have a pretty interesting lossless collection, but it's not a dream come true. Still is the best BT lossless source I've seen so far.

ltev, why these rules might you ask? so downloaders are happy, noone wants shit quality music, transcodes or mislabeled files, oink attempts to get the largest selection of music and everyone who downloads is happy because they get what they downloaded.

It's the closest thing to, say itunes plus, for free, actually better.

They couldn't do this without the rules, and some people have to suffer.

transcodes=re-encoded lossy files, so mp3 bitrate whatever to another bitrate or WMA. Leads to a loss in quality, so you don't get what you downloaded in terms of quality. For examples of transcodes, see demonoid.

You should start by telling the truth. You don't know how to read and follow rules. That is why your PU+ privileges were revoked. There is nothing wrong with the site. I am grateful they weed out people like you that upload transcodes. That is why I am assured quality content on Oink. If i wanted transcodes I would download from demonoid. You just don't know how to use the site properly. Your loss!

BOT: Oink and all of its "prick" users/uploaders will in fact be very difficult to replace. It was the quality (no transcodes) that set it apart from others. Sure demonoid has lots of content, but most of it is shit quality or transcodes.

Much like when suprnova fell, hopefully something will be there shortly to replace it.

Yea, I will defend OiNK. But I have good reason to. OiNK wasn't just a place to score free music, it was a community of music lovers who had a genuine passion for discovering and sharing what they loved with others. Regardless of a couple asshats here and there, being a part of that community was an experience that has changed my life for the better.

I joined this and 4 other sites (two of them, I have been posting in since Feb), to post open sign ups, specifically so that people would not fall into the trading game. I do not use a tracker checker. I do it manually.

The only reason I am telling this now, is so people will understand WHY I do it.

Most of those that rep me for posting there, usually have one or two points to give (and yes, I thank you for thanking me), but my accumulation of points have not come from that thread. They have come from other threads. Being involved elsewhere.

I have been a mod and am admin of a site that no longer has an invite section. I apologize to any honest traders (they are few and far between. Many do it for "sport") that I may offend with what I am saying, but to watch them go sometimes 72 hours at a time, waiting to make a trade...well it was like watching a bunch of dope fiends.

I catch a lot of shite, people saying I copy paste from that site to another (people at FST have asked, "Are you "HelanaP? or people at P2P asking, "Are you fire63...?")

I do not answer, so they get pissed. Mostly those loser/traders (that we have banned at our site) that sit like vultures waiting to see something good posted, and never LOOKING for or posting a fricking thing themselves.

So they call me b*tch, dike, etc... all because I won't tell them.

Any account that I have to a high level tracker, was given to me. I joined a couple of "Give-Away" sites to give some of my invites away. I wanted to share. But after watching some of the members at these sites and seeing them asking for invites, yet never giving back (just leaving, or begging for something else, till eventually, they are banned), I became VERY leary. I like my music sites. I like all the sites I use. I am not willing to risk my a$$, to share in that way.

I thought I could, but these past few months, well..as I stated above, I agree. I believe the mole was a person involved in a trade.

I decided that seeding is enough of a risk. To take the stand for sharing what I have already paid for. I do it (seed) because of the principle involved. The medium is mine, I paid for it. PLUS I am told I cannot make a copy of something I have paid for? Not even for my own personal use? Even though the artist still gets royalties on every blank CD or DVD that I purchase?

I believe wholeheartedly and fervently, that music was put on this planet as a gift of expression. I thinks that a true artist (and there are several that have their own site you can dl for free from), would create music even if they did not get paid.
