Uh......no. Windows ME is like Win98 only less stable(is that even possible?). But this is just my opinion.

It's not XP.... XD
Oh and it can run WMP6.4.....it doesn't have some of the hassles and compatibility problems that XP does.....
Windows ME can be stable if you work with it....but that takes effort on your part.
Oh well, I've said this before, I'm not gonna start with it again. Flame wars come all to easy with subjects like this.....

I am a XP and Lindows users. i never had a good run with ME. But I agree with CCSDUDE that ME can be stable you just have to work with it.

have tried all the flavours of windows and windows me to put it technically it is shi.te it is the system that microsoft never finished , loads of compatibility problems , i run xp and lindows as well and they both run happily no major problems since i bunged on xp back in feb although i was very sceptical about xp it is the best version so far once you take out all the unnecessary cr.ap and deactivate the verified hardware driver function - especially the media player which is diabolical even on a 2.5ghz machine, i use the win98 media player 6.4 which is quick and easy.:hole

if you want a stable system just work and learn on it.
that's the best anyone can do.
if you have not patience, your most likely shit out of luck no matter what you use.
puters require a bit of patience and yeah learnin...
peace!
ME is stable for me.
whatever you use or get, just take time to learn how to tweak it.
install a few OS's on your system to learn them.

I really liked ME's layout (I dread XP in comparison) so right now I've got the '98 platform with the ME overlay -- god, that probably makes it even more unstable.
But then, what do you consider "instability"? If I could count the number of problems I encounter on any computer that shouldn't happen, and learn to work around, I'd... well, I'd be much better at math for one thing.
and now I insert the bouncing frog :fire
