Many p2p files are compressed. People who cares for security will scan for malware before decompressing in the begining but stop after a while because nothing ever pops up. Thats because many, even very expensive, AV / antispyware programs are very poor at detecting heuristic archive bombs (malware hidden in rar).
I will recommend people to use a-squared anti spyware scanner for a while, which is very good at detecting heuristic archive bombs. Its my experience that 20% of all compressed torrents i download from private trackers (!) are infected with this !!! A-squared is freeware.
