iPod touch come out some days ago, and now we can buy the six generation iPod at Apple Store. But it seems that Apple did something to the iPod. In order to ensure the iTunes music records stores’ status in the retail sector. Apple joined some restrictions about iPod. The latest generation iPod that Apple introduced add a new mechanism to prevent other software to read and write the iPod songs library. Apple adds a SHA1 encryption algorithm to the new iPod iTunesDB database to ensure that only iTunes can read and write the database. The users who are habited to using those easier third party software may be disappointed.

Though we will be forced to use iTunes, we are not forced to use iTunes Store. We can still get free music and video from limewire which many people are still using. You can visit here to learn how to download free music and video to iPod (http://www.iskysoft.com/article/dvd-ipod.html). Of course, MySpace and DailyMotion will also work.

Now,using iTunes to sync files to iPod is the only choice we can make. I use iTunes too. But I have found it a bit clunky. So let me show how to sync music and videos.
Select the audio/video files you want to sync from your iTunes library, drag them under "PLAYLISTS", and a new playlist will be created with all the selected files in it. Then you can click the Music menu tab, check the "Selected playlists" option, and select the newly created playlist to sync.If you want to remove the files, just uncheck the box and you will find the way.
