How the hell do you want me to view the file? What address.dat? I do not have a clue how to use eMule not at all. When i opened that file it was nothing. Do you want me rename it from . whatever you sent me to .txt?

Use Notepad to open the addresses.dat file in the eMule's Config folder, then use that address to download server.met for severs list.

1.) That sounds WAY beyond my level. 2.) I didn't need to take that route because it found the server. 3.) If i did need to take your route i will shoot someone because it is difficult. 4.) How can i pick up the speeds in eMule instead of having the status waiting all the time? I read a guide and it said to test both my upload and download speeds then divide it by 8 for both, Is that right? Wouldn't it be cut in half by diving by 2? Then enter it in the connections tab.

eMule uses KB, 1KB = 8Kb apprx.!

What does that mean? I still do not have a clue. Please help me.

Just divide by 8 for speed calculations in your settings, you'll be fine.

OK now why can't i download? Why is it the status is waiting all the time?

Because eDonkey/eMule network uses a credit & first comes first serve system. This is not the same as Kazaa, you just have to wait util your turn! Depends on what you are looking for, ask others for other networks to use.

Those servers were shut down by german court.

Sucks so much.

Yep! The servers were shut down....so it is not you that is the problem. Sucks too! Those servers had the most files on the edonkey network.

Yeah, but can kad really do what the servers did...as far as have all the files on it that the donkey servers 1-6 and Big Bang servers did? This may be a test. But I just do not know if people will make the switch.

You have a LOT of people on even the emule forums that don't even know how to use kad....some don't even know the basics! And THAT is on the emule forums! Not to mention the numbers of regular users that used emule or edonkey before there ever was kad. Not very promising in my opinion.

Ever since there were some fake servers, I been using both networks like many others. So, there are lots of people on kad network already, when it does searches on it I'm still able to find what I'm looking for most of the time plus I've been using eMule for a long time so I had got most what I wanted already! :)

Of course if you are late, you may have harder time finding rare & older files but it's expected since most people have to removed them for storage room over time. They would get harder & harder to find! There's nothing anyone can do about that. :(

guys,

I can connect but bad news is really bad news other wise i would use eMule in seconds. eMule freezes on me after a little while when i close it and there is no way around to close out eMule but to power off my PC then power it back on. What can i do to start using eMule?

NOT everyone can do that! Some have to bootstrap, which to me is way more trouble than it is worth. I am not going to use emule again auntil they have decent servers up and running. Screw Kad.

I can get everything I need off of newsgroups anyway. I only use the mule for very small or rare files.

DigitalJunkie,

Did you just get my PM with the websites direct to the eMule site on my topics? Why is eMule keep freezing on me?
