Forget illegal "file-sharing," as it wages an all out war on "idea-sharing" from South Korean cinema that has already taken the rest of East Asia by storm.

In an article posted last month on Radio Free Asia, it seems that North Korea, the Hermit Kingdom as it's referred to for good reason, has decided to "intensify" its crackdown on the imports of popular South Korean culture.

Having apparently already taken the rest of East Asia by storm, South Korean movies and TV dramas have also infiltrated the living rooms of North Korea and the authorities there are none too happy.

I suppose in this instance, Bush could be seen as the lesser of two evils.
It's probably the only instance, though...*sigh*

You can execute a thousand teens (which, horrifyingly, they probably will), but you'll never stop the erosion of geographically based cultural boundaries and the rapid extension of free thinking (under the guise of entertainment). One world or bust, baby.

I think China is also headed this direction. Sure, their government does not like a lot of outside influences comming in because it is mainly a communist state, but they are also embracing movies, books, etc. from other cultures.

No matter how many people you kill, there always will be a spirit of freedom. You CAN'T KILL AN IDEA WITH A GUN!

That is why the movie and music industry cannot win. There are more of US than of them. So they can start all the lawsuits they want, but in the end, they depend upon dollars just like every other business....dollars....that have went elsewhere since they started this stupid "sue 'em all" campaign.

Uh... kind of glad this type of thinking wasn't too prevalent during WWII
