best to convert windows media to mpg?

I have a few windows media files I need to convert to MPG.

I currently use win2avi. But is there anything better?

I've tried Total Video Converter, it converts so many formats to mpg and others, but I've found it a little hard to use, so you have to read before using it. If you have a number of wmv movies that are all the same frame size, etc., and you want them all to go to the same mpg format, then you can save a profile for it.

There are lots of converter programs, I don't know which is the best, but always keep in mind that you'll lower your video quality by converting to another compressed format like mpg and others.

i tried out winavi, and i liked it..

but i have wmv files that are maybe 300mb each, and winavi splits them into two files of like 600mb each or so, is that normal?
