I saw this movie recently. Wow...
I have seen most, if not all, of the Simpsons episodes since they began (20 years ago...)

This movie was TERRIBLE!!
It was a mistake, and they should have never made it.
Please, tell me what you think....

it was no worse then any recent episodes, so no reason to complain really...
Wish it would have come out years ago when the eps were better, would have been a better movie.
but you can't expect it to be better then the tv show is now, and thats predictable with stupid gags and jokes.
I liked it, but thats just me, I like stupid jokes and movies.

Shit! It was wayyyyyyyyyyyy better than I thought it would be. It was actaully good. I dont see how any Simpson fan could complain. Everyone I know who has seen it really liked it. So.....WTF? You must have went in expecting to hate it or you saw the wrong movie. Was it the Departed? Fuck no it is the Simpsons. A cartoon. A laugh a minute.

The Simpsons have finally made it to the big screen and in the end I am glad to be able to say it has been worth the wait. The Simpsons legacy is now firmly sealed.

The film is a must-see, you'll get more Homer than ever before! Don't be a Homer and see this amazing film!

Coming out of the theater after seeing The Simpsons Movie, I realized three things: 1) I haven’t laughed for so hard for so long in years. 2) That the movie was only 82 minutes long and yet felt the perfect length. And 3) I had been sitting in gum the entire time.

being a huge fan of the simpsons i was excited from the moment i heard they were finally going to make the movie...and tonight i got to see one of the funniest and possibly favorite movies i have ever se

And on and on

In fact, your review is the only bad one Ive seen on the entire internet and thats saying something!

I found a few bad ones, as well...

Show creators said they waited 18 years to bring The Simpsons to the big screen because they wanted to create a story that demanded the scope offered by a film, but after a year-and-a-half in the making, it doesn’t live up to the hype.

I simply can’t fathom what Groening was thinking when he green-lighted this. Cartoons don’t need realistic or Oscar worthy premises, but what was settled on for The Simpsons Movie had to have been one from the bottom of the barrel.

I didnt really think that much of it either. Making a movie was a big mistake by the creators. I dont really like the new humour either. Weird things keep happening to the characters.

And as if Bart would ever want Flanders as a father.

I think watching interviews with Matt Groening are a lot more funny then the Simpsons. The movie is basicly a really long episode and less of a movie.

meh.

Actually, I remember at least one old show where this was the premise. It was a pretty weak premise then, though, and still is.

As far as my impression of the movie goes... it wasn't side-splittingly hilarious, but quite a bit of it was amusing. If one were to rate it against the average episode, I would place it fairly high.

I mean, come on, the "I will not illegally download this movie" chalkboard punishment was pretty darn funny.

I fell asleep... but that could have been because I worked at the movie theatre and went in there and was tired because i had worked all day.

I don't think it was bad. It may not have lived up to the hype and the ending could have been better. But the movie had some really funny moments.

Homer talking to his family - 'I've really come to like you guys'.

You really have to watch it more than once to get all the jokes.

I didn't like the movie, either. Generally, I'm more fan of sitcoms than comedy movies... It's very hard to create a movie that can make you laugh for 90 minutes.
I believe Borat was the only one that succeeded in that

It was not as good as Super Bad, but it still had its redeeming qualities.

lol the best part of that sleep-fest was the opening bart gag where he writes shit 'bout not pirating the movie

beyond that it had maybe 3 or 4 standard simpsons episode laughs

glad seth mcfarlane has enough intelligence to keep his shit to tv/dvd even though the stewie movie was actually film worthy

I mean I damn near pissed myself laughing when lois busts outta the limo piss drunk drops to her knees and asks peter to fuck 'er on the red carpet (dum dum chee) and stewie's ET dude neck snap almost sealed the piss yourself deal while the most the simpsons movie opening managed was a mild chuckle at the chalkboard gag being so true
