avoiding downloads with keys etc. that don't work

i find that quite a large percentage of my downloads have passords or keys that don't work. is there any way of weeding out the bad ones or do i just have to do multiple downloads to find the ones that do?

Read the comments. The comments are good for finding out whether or not a crack/keygen works. As private trackers tend to include more comments/greater participation, I'd stick to those. Sometimes the comments don't tell you all, though. In those instances, you're best bet is to DL a few versions and/or a few different cracks/keygens.

The only time I've seen passwords is with adult torrents. If you are talking about adult stuff, definitely stick to private trackers. 75% of the stuff I used to DL from isohunt was password protected. Puretna is the king of adult trackers. I have never seen a password there.
