I kinda run into the same problem. They have an article about it on this site and on demonoid's forums, but I haven't gotten it to work yet..

Demonoid updates every day, as they say on the site. I was just reading somewhere about this, and they say you have to stop and start your torrents every so often, like every 6 hours to make sure that the total gets counted.
You also would want to log in to the site from the same computer that you're seeding on. If you log in from home and start to seed, then take your computer to a friend's house or other connection somewhere, unless you log in to Demonoid again from the new location, it won't count toward your total upload.
What I recommend is to create a new torrent, upload it, and then seed it. That gives you pure ratio power. Remember to always spread your seed, it's good for the survival of the species.

Try rifling through your CD collection for stuff that isn't on Demonoid, or only on there in low bitrate, then uploading those in a high bitrate (192kbps or above). I recommend Exact Audio Copy (http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/) or dbPoweramp (http://www.dbpoweramp.com/) for creating quality rips.
Even better, create some DVD ISOs and upload those. They have to be stuff that's gonna be popular and that isn't on their already to get people to download 4GB worth, mind - but even 1 or 2 snatches of those will get your ratio singing.
Make sure you include a full description with all your torrents - if it looks like you've made a bit of an effort people will assume it's good quality (which hopefully it will be).
Try also downloading stuff from PirateBay and other free sites and uploading to Demonoid (again, no good if there's already a good copy on there - you have to look to fill the niches for what you think people will want but that isn't already available).
As already mentioned, Demonoid only updates the tracker daily, so just seed, seed, seed, then when you stop your ratio should update in a day or two.
Good luck!

The thing that seems to work for me as I reboot every 2-3 days is:
Right before I shutdown uTorrent, I click 'Update Tracker'..than I shut it down.
I than wait an hour or two before I reboot.
It has been posted on Demoniod manytimes...that if you shutdown & reboot too fast..it won't be able to add to your ratio cause it can't find you...so I figure like other P2P..that it must still ping you for awhile after you stop your Torrents.

I'm really sure his problem is that his ratio doesn't update constantly, you really can't fail at demonoid.

demonoid is slow to update ratio, but also log out delete cookies and re-log back in before starting downloading and uploading because if your modem assigns new ip every time you switch pc on, you will not be recognised by demonoid.

I used to have the same issue. Make sure you STOP each torrent you are seeding one by one every couple of days. The reason for this is that the demonoid tracker does not update automatically, it needs to be sent a signal from your client, and that happens when you stop the torrent. Make sure you don't just close your client, as you will lose any data you have uploaded (credit for). This has worked for me, so give it a try.

Yes, it's stated in the Demoniod FAQ. "If your client supports DHT and it is enabled any data transfered via these means will not count toward your ratio."

It says it right in parenthesis next to your ratio (Updated once a day)

i disAGGGGRRRREEEEE (yeah its stated in FAQs) im member for more than a year but since then may ratio is 0.91 (according to them i made this = 14gbupload 15gb dwnload)
but in actual maybe i download/seed 100gb or more but i cant see that DHT working with them :devil2
but as long as im not banned in their site and my ratio is not going negative then all is fine with me

meaning they update your ratio once a day based on whatever info your client is sending out.
Sometimes there are issues, so you have to ensure that Demonoid has your correct ip address logged, and that your client is actually sending your up/down info. By stopping the torrent, it will send this data back to the demonoid tracker. This comes straight from the demonoid forums.

Interesting. I'll look at that. I never keep track of it close enough to see if I am missing anything anyway.
