I know there is a way to quickly burn AVI. video files w/Nero , put them onto a dvd and have them play in a dvd player. I accidently did it before and forgot what I did. But when I try to do it now my dvd players say UNKNOWN DISC.
How do I do this?

Standard DVD player can't play AVI format, unless you have a DivX/DVD combo player!

It might be the avi file that you downloaded also. There are 'standalone' settings for avi movies, but that's something that has to be set that way when the video is encoded.

Some DVD players can play the files better when they are not encoded for standalones! You can never be sure unless you know what your player can do, and how the uploader encoded it (meaning the settings they used when they copied the original disk to avi).

One thing to do is to convert to regular DVD format the movies that won't play on your standalone as avi.

Yeah you will need a specialist standalone dvd player to play avi format files.
If you can try and pick up this program: convertXtodvd
That should give you a pretty decent result
