I am member of some torrent site(torrent-damage/ bitsoup /ilovetorrents etc.). I have noticed that almost every tracker has same torrent. I mean if some one released a torrent at torrent-damage, it will be available at other tracker within few hours.
So my question is why shall i go for ftn, oink, pissky? I hope they will have the same torrent. Also it is tuff to maintain ratio at those site.
I am not a member at those site, So i have no answer for this. Please explain what is the specialty of those site. Why some one shall go for those site???

One of the differences is that they (F*N, Oi*K, etc.) are extremely selective about their membership.
F*N is special because of it's continuous free leach on assorted files.
Regarding ratio at F*N; it's not hard at all, but means essentially nothing. You have to upload 200 GB before you can get invites.
Oi*K doesn't give invites until you reach a certain upload (I think it's 10GB) amount.
Lots of music there, but I can upload a file and 30 minutes later, it will be listed as #146 on the third page. LOL!
Good luck!

Yeah, with a 98% chance of getting banned, when you are caught at o*NK.

more like 99.99% lol
OiNK is extremely efficient at banning cheaters. Besides, if you have very slow up speed, don't want/can't seed, etc etc, go to a public tracker... cheating destroys BT communities.

hearts_hacker i used to think the same way, until I got into sites like those. Zero day trackers like bitsoup, ilovetorrents, iptorrents, revtt, torrentleech, rsr, etc. there isn't much difference. The only difference is that higher level sites like ftn and sct offer much great speeds, unique movie, music, tv packs, and a personal community. Trust me high level sites are so much more awesome. Then there are trackers that deal with specific content, such as music, film, television, software, etc. Oink deals with music. It has 170,000 members, 1,700,000 peers, 190,000 torrents all music (flac, mp3, etc.). All torrents follow strict guidelines for uploading, making sure that members get the best possible rip of a cd, or at least most trusted. Other sites like BTmusic, have even stricter guidelines. Because the material is top quality, these high level sites are hard to get into. You won't see the crap like you see at ilovetorrents or bitsoup. Everything is very organized. Mostly all the stuff at ftn, sct are scene. Everything follow a naming scheme, just like the scene follows a naming scheme. Lastly, the community is a lot different. People know what they are doing. There are barely any noobs. And since the community is smaller, everyone knows each other more.

The thing is these site are all for those of us who prefer to actually share content than simply leech off of someone else's bandwidth for our own gain. Sure some are leaked to other trackers, but a majority aren't. The best thing is the community and being able to share interests with other similar users in order to find new or hard-to-find-content, rather than going to some run-of-the-mill torrent search orgy with non-tailored results.

F*N is special because of it's continuous free leach on assorted files.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding the term 'free leech,' but, for a site like F*N, what would be the benefit of this? By the time someone rises through the ranks of less exclusive trackers and makes it to F*N, wouldn't they be of a mindset where leeching would pretty much be meaningless?
I'm already of the "how can I upload more" mentality and my trackers are all very low level/non-exclusive compared to F*N.

What would be the benefit? I don't know. They ask members to leech because it "makes" them "happy!" Maybe it's incentive to seed the torrent for others. In a sense, it keeps the torrents going.
That's the way I look at it, but I am tired and am not making sense...

I remember when I only used to use public trackers,
Horrible speed.
Private trackers are all about the community, instead of a public tracker, everyone uploads, so you get massive speeds. The higher level private tracker you have, the more dedicated, hardcore uploaders there are.

You seem to be knowledgeable about high-level private trackers ..... one of the hard to get into sites I've been trying to get into is UK-T. But very tough to get in ... and I'm wondering if it's worth it ... some say it's way overrated. Any insight into it? How about BTMusic?? Thanks!

The rationale behind freeleech is that it allows more people to maintain their ratios. Essentially d/l's don't count, but u/l's do during freeleech. Because of the inherent way BT works, there will always be more downloading than uploading credited, so it's impossible for everyone to have a ratio >= 1.0 unless there are ratio remedies like freeleech, P2L, IRC bonus, etc. Sites like Oink that do not provide any of these, allow people to maintain lower ratios without warning/banning.
