I am an edonkey newbie, I tried to connect to eDonkey2000 servers, but I am not able to connect to any of them even though I have many files to share? Any reason why?
How do I use the quick links from sites like sharereactor?
Thanks.

I have posted a link for Autoupdater to download servers on this thread, http://www.zeropaid.com/bbs/showthread.php?s=&postid=31789#post31789
If you download the latest version of eDonkey, you'll need a ed2k file link fix patch. You should be able to find the patch at www.sharereactor.com then you will be able to just click on ed2k file link to start download in eDonkey. There are different patches for ed2k link fix, ask for the patch that will work for you at ShareReactor's forum!
You should also check out eMule, it does multi-source downloads & it also has anti-leech feature like eDonkey! I'm using eMule v0.22c Tarod 6 MOD version, it is stable. Go to http://www.emule-project.net/en/index.php & download the Tarod MOD version.
eDonkey/eMule uses same servers, for eMule you just have to modify Autoupdater a bit to work with eMule automatically.

Thanks for the help. What is the difference between eMule & eDonkey2000? If I have cable modem, which one is faster? How to paste links into eMule or EDonkey2000? My eDonkey ID is 0, is there a general setting for firewalls?

download the eMule client which connect to the eDonkey network.. It is newbie proof, and works much better than the eDonkey client.

download .22c

There are different patches for ed2k file link fix is because different web browsers handle links differently. So check out this thread at ShareReactor's Forum:

Thanks. I tried it. But I still get low ID of 0, I tried their test script, it says I should have other higher ID # than 0. ANy idea why. I am not running firewall either.
BTW there is no server list either, where to get the server list for eMule?

Ken123, are you using a firewall? Low ID usually is due to firewall.

Good Luck! :-)

I have just finished uploading my modified version of Autoupdater to use with eMule, it is on my old Geocities web page at the bottom of the page.
