Strangest thing just happened 5 minutes ago...I was on DC++ (0.698) and dl'ing some music and listening to them as they finished...I had a lot of music in the DC++ Downloads folder already...One particular downloaded music track wouldn't open correctly with WMP (Gave me an error)...I proceeded to open the music file with BS player, listened to it fine...Didn't like the track so I was about to delete it from within the DC++ Downloads folder and suddenly, everything in the folder disappeared (Right before my eyes).

I checked the recycle bin and nothing was in there...I performed a system search to see if I could find the files (Maybe thinking I had inadvertently moved the folder someplace else)...Nowhere to be found.

Does this sound familiar?

Why don't you use data recovery software to see if you can find them on the HD! Don't do anything else, that can have your data overwritten by other programs. Good luck!

Anything you'd recommend?

I tried system restore through XP and they didn't recover, so I reversed the restore.

Used GetDataBack for NTFS and I got all of my music files back...Took less than an hour!

That's happened to me twice now (so I don't use DC++ anymore). Both times it corrupted the data and I had to restore. One of those time, though, I lost a large majority of the music files. I wonder why it does that?
