We have a 13 foot projector in my house and all the systems are next to the projector which is a good 20 feet or so from the screen. Anybody have any recommendations on a DIY sensor bar?

DIY? Just get the Nyko wireless one for $20. Or cut the wire in half and extend it.

That will work for most games but you do loose the ability to sense depth when using only two reference points. Most people don't realize that the Wii can sense depth by checking the 8 leds and that is why it is required. Very few games if any use this feature yet tho so for the most part two reference points work.

not true

the wii uses 4 points clustered like so ..// \\..

the . are straight ahead and the \ are on a 45 if I recall right

you end up with a wide angle and 4 track points 2 per side side by side

this gives you lots of smoothing for a players dodgy input

once someone reprograms the wiimote and games or something like glovepie bridge the gap for pc you'll be stuck with delay and up down issues

fix that and you could map to 4 corners on a DLP image with super IR clusters of 5 or so making counterstrike play totally unfair for you

www.dealextreme.com
has one, great site, comes from hong kong though, long shipping time but
the products are great and pretty cheap.
Wireless would definitely be the way to go.
