I've got a computer, minus the drivers. I have no idea what is in the actual PC itself so I don't even know what I'm looking for, so I was wondering if anyone knew a program of some sort that could identify my devices and direct me to which drivers I require? It's the basic audio and video drivers. Oh, and the motherboard, which is an ATI Radeon Xpress 200 (and I cannot find the drivers for that on the site)

Thanks

Go get the Everest, it's a free diag. tool, then go to DriverGuide.com to find your drivers.

Also sometimes Windows Update recommends sometimes drivers that are compatible with your system.

Alright. I managed to install everything but the audio driver. The audio is (according to that excellent program you suggested) "ATI SB450 - AC'97" I think it is on driverguide, but it tells me I exceeded my limit. Do you know if downloads are daily or what?

-----------

All drivers updated. Now for my last question - how do I put them to the test?

Thanks for all the help.

i personally advise to go to the manufacturers website for drivers, in some cases whether it be a custom build, or an old system you first need to identify the devices then begin the hunt for the drivers.

Everest is an excellent program for identifying whats in the PC, if you would post more info on your computer, make/model/OS ill gladly see what i can find for you.
