New video download site busts you for illegally downloading video content as well as offers the ability to download video content using a custom client which also scans a users PC to see if the user has already downloaded copyrighted files. (Digg and comment this)

I'm speechless. The MPAA is really desperate.

Hopefully they won't take even more drastic measures.

Miivi.com was down last night, and it's still down this morning. One has to wonder if they're sweeping it under the rug now that they've been caught. This can't be legal.

I'd say, remember that name MiiVi.com for the next time they're whining, because people aren't using authorized content providers.

Not if they find you have already downloaded copyrighted content before (anyone ever get a notice?). Entrapment is when they get you do to something you would not have otherwise done on your own.
