I have been sent two PM's with this ominous sounding title, but I still don't have the foggiest what it means.
So what happens when someone receives an "infraction", does it get noted down on their record like a police caution, for later reference ? Are "infractions" wiped after a certain amount of time, and if so how much time ? How many infractions until a user receives the almighty boot ?
Please enlighten me, because I haven't seen this explained anywhere on the forums.
EDIT: Should have posted this in the feedback forum, feel free to move it.

No clue what the infraction is about, but I moved the thread to the feedback forum.

I got them from two different moderators. I'm not going to paste the whole thing, but one of them said the following:
You have received an infraction at Zeropaid Forums.
Reason: Insulted Other Member(s)
This infraction is worth 1 point(s) and may result in restricted access until it expires. Serious infractions will never expire.
This next one contained this.
You have received a warning at Zeropaid Forums.
Reason:

Insulted Other Member(s)
Warnings serve as a reminder to you of the forum's rules, which you are expected to understand and follow.

Wow, I think some people need to fuck off, namely those bitch ass whiny complainers.
I didn't even know this infraction bullshit existed.

WTF, what the point of a forum if you dont get to insult people you dont know? dont give me that "talk about cool stuff" BS, that gets boring and you all know it!

lol sorry but that is a little ridiculous.
This just seems like a nice technicality that can be used to throw out members that aren't too popular.

Grabs pretty popular or he wouldnt have been admited back into the forums to do what he does best. If people don't like the rules fuck off then. The mods do a great job imo.

All I can say is that it's about fucking time.
While the posting membership is up to a good mix again there has been a shortage of blood.
For far too long the forums have been dominated by more or less civil discussion. This is just the sort of spark that has been needed to fire up the rebellion machine. Not that this is enough to throw it into gear yet, but at least it's running.
I hereby request further infractions for all. Throw open the gates and let hell reign!

Okay you pieces of shit! Just fuck it! I have to agree I always come back for a good ol smear the queer topic. Why dont we all stop being nice and say whats on our minds? If you can't score an infraction over the next few days your a guttless mealy mouth tardfucker! Get in gear or show us what a big smelly pussy you have.
Im off to scope out a random victim!

WTF
I've never seen grab ever be insulting or the slightest bit offensive. His posts are like watching Marry Poppins while doing Pat Boone up the ass and listening to Christian radio. Now what's offensive about that.

Well I thought it was just a rule change which I had missed. Strange that even some of the mods don't seem to know about it.

I always feel Grab's posts get right to the point, but mixed with humor. So someone that does not have a sense of humor within him/her can feel insulted. All I can say is, get a sense of humor because you are going to need it anyway! :)

I think it has shown that the general populace has affection for grab. Sure, he can be a grating prick, but what pisses people off the most, is he is usually right. (note it didn't say always)

User Infractions
The User Infraction system is designed to automate the the management of misbehaving users.
Infractions carry a point total that is awarded to users. When a user reaches pre-determined point levels, the user is given infraction groups. Infraction groups are set up to restrict the permissions of users.
The system can also be configured to institute automatic bans based on points or number of infractions received.

If you keep it up, maybe he'll get banned.
And it won't even be a mod's doing.

ok, thanks for being the only person to answer my questions.
Does anyone know answers to the following ?
- What type of restrictions will be imposed after a given number of infractions?
- how long will the restrictions last for?
- How many infractions will it take to elicit a permanent ban ?
- Does an infraction expire after a certain amount of time, or is it permanent ?

Why don't you focus on not doing anything that will incite an infraction and then you won't have to worry about it?

are you with the ATF?
---------------------------
If there is going to be an infraction system there ought to be some degree of transparency. Users should be able to go to some specified page and see exactly what kinds of things would cause them to earn an infraction. Its a sticky thing though, there is a lot of strangeness that occurs here, a lot of off-the-cuff comments that some touchy individuals might be insulted by while others could not care less.
So, do the mods give an infraction every time someone is rude, vulgar, insulting, etc? or just when someone gets their feelings hurt?

I only read a bit about it myself but this is what I am to understand
- What type of restrictions will be imposed after a given number of infractions?
This is set by the admins and can be anything from a complete or temp ban to restricted access to different parts of the forums. This is a way for admins to give some disciplinary
power to the community but keeping it from being a trolling tool by requiring many infractions from people to triggger the restriction. This is alledgedly effective in cases where moderators are not present to keep the peace - how long will the restrictions last for?
Again I think this is set by admin and can be a pre set time period..it's almost related to
your next question because I think as the system tracks the infractions it will deliver a more severe punishment based on how many times you have been slapped before with infractions or restrictions i.e 3 infractions limited access, 6 infrations temp ban, 9 infractions permanent ban
- How many infractions will it take to elicit a permanent ban?again I think this is set by admina and can be flexible
- Does an infraction expire after a certain amount of time, or is it permanent ?I get the impression that for the system to work as described the infractions are permanently stored by the server to keep track of future measures and actions towards the one individual

Im not sure if Jorge even set it up to do anything or if it is just pretty panels at the bottom
of our Avatar and details. We could make a patsy or choose a patsy and infract his ass to see what it does.

Is this infraction serious? Hell Yeah! Serious as a myocardial infarction...
(first thing I thought when I saw the thread title).
BTW, I haven't read the thread fully, but my suggestion (as always) is to BAN THE HOOLIGAN!!! We don't need shit-stirrers like him here... what we need is more awwwwesome mods like Pamela69 that bring this forum to "the next level."
If he receives infarctions for insults, he should have almost as many infarctions as he has posts.
