I'm new (somewhat) to kazaa and I need some help.
Does anyone out there no how to spot a leecher?
Does "My Particapation level: Low (0)" = leecher?

Also are there any utilities that can be used to combat leechers?
Thanks for your time everybody!

well, those peeps with 0 (usually) arent leachers. theyre most likely users on older kazaa clients, or different fasttrack clients such as grokster and imesh. to spot a leacher, you basiclly have to go thru their shared files list. i dont know of any (good) antileech utils for kazaa.

there are no good utilities. they all suck and a determined leech can circumvent them. Unfortunately, it doesn't take much determination. however, if you hate leeches, try DirectConnect. For most hubs there are minimum files shared (like 1 gig, 5 gigs, 10 gigs, it varies) because of this it is very hard to leech on that network. Its possible but hard and leeches are rare.

Be carefull about who you accuse of being a leecher. I say this because Kazaa 2.0 can sometimes return no files found on a playlist search only to report hundreds of files shared on a second or third search. Anyway, have you tried sending a message to the leecher it may be an education problem. Let them know how Kazaa works, it is just possible they dont understand P2P.

Watch out if you use a non multi source download program. Weepers are coming! Please read The thread "weepers"

I'm not really worried about weepers, i only run kazaa at night when im not using the bandwidth anyway, so let them waste their time

as for the anti-leech, check www.kazaakontrol.com

right now i dont think he has the free version on the site, but if you look on kazaa or possibly pm me, i might be able to help out a little bit..... ;)
