oh great... not only are you an elitist and lacking humility but you're also something of a demagogue (NOT demigod, keep those delusions of grandeur down now! ;) as in, "an orrator who appeals to the passions or prejudices of his audience"... also known as a rabble-rouser. And thats exactly what you have done here.
IT IS AN AD. And regardless of what cydoor has done with p2p in the past they have cleaned up their act, they are trying to be good. check cexx.org, theyve got info on it. And to be honest, I enjoy the poetic irony (sidenote: some Americans DO know irony, will and method ; ) involved in a major p2p portal being paid, and according to some ads even "sponsored", by a company such as Cydoor. Think about it.... they are paying Zeropaid to advertise for them while they educate all their users in how to delete cydoor and even... block out those banner ads that begat this virulent posting.
other than that, search around, there are other threads on this matter.
edit: dont you ever leave the winmx forums? this post does not belong here....

Oh, great, one of the banner ads on the Zeropaid website now is for a major adware / spyware corporation: Cydoor. I already block all the popups and junk they had on here.
Cydoor is what infects iMesh, Kazaa, Grokster, and untold other p2p clients so that they spew popups, popunders, and banner ads at you, and now install ad icons on your pc desktop.
"Cydoor Desktop Media is the industry leader in powerful desktop marketing and technology solutions. With over 55 million desktop software users and billions of monthly impressions, Cydoor Desktop Media provides razor-sharp targeting and outstanding results."
"Cydoor is excited to launch our new innovative icon drop solution. Each time a user installs our technology we provide added value by placing an additional icon on the desktop.
This desktop icon blazes a whole new innovative trail in powerful advertising placement and ensures each advertiser receives premium desktop placement and exposure."
Yeah right, real exciting. Thanks for selling out to the very companies that p2p people despise, Zeropaid. Nah, lets not get AdCouncil or National Science Foundation or some benign or cool company to advertise, let's get Cydoor the adware propagator! Yeah! What's next, banner ads from the RIAA Lawyers on Zeropaid featuring how you can contribute to their new yacht fund or be served with a cease & desist?
Now on Zeropaid: Download the latest GATOR!
Zeropaid News: New release of Bonzi Buddy is now out...get your spastic purple monkey now.
:tol
I have a very simple solution for you.
If you feel that ZP has "crossed the line", don't visit the site anymore.
We have a hell of a lot of members. We won't miss you. Really.

"this post does not belong here...."
I agree Gorphon. This has nothing to do with WinMX. It should be moved. Maybe to the ZP lounge or something.

I'll put it simply for you, when you have your own OWN site you can say what can be on the site and what can't. Until than dont bother us with a crappy thread that makes no sense and no one cares about. K?

Who the hell do you think pays for the legal defense of companies like grokster, kazaa, and imesh? Um, probably their largest supplier of advertising, Cydoor. I think a few popups is a small price to pay to keep p2p alive. And geez, just learn how to edit your hosts file and just don't worry about it.

For a second I wondered what banner, I've never seen the Zeropaid web site displaying banners. I scrolled back to the top of the page, and there it is, a little text saying [Ad]. It's amazing how one can quickly get used to browsing without popups, banners, java applets, javascripts, flash, and all the other useless crap. Proxomitron, you do one hell of a job.

hehehe the old CYDOOR ON ZP?!?! thingy..Weve been through it, but theres still no reason to jump on this guy, it is actually pretty shameless of ZP to have them here, irony or not..Anyhoooo I just want to say to TipYourBartender, as much as I do respect you, I think a comment like yours "we have so many members here, if you dont like it just leave, we wont miss you" is VERY WRONG! ZP is NOTHING without contributors, NOTHING without new members, NOTHING without opinions..think about that. I am very much against that kind of comment, ESPECIALLY as this dude actually has a valid point, nomatter how many times the rest of us have talked about it or how clever some of you think you are because you know how to block the ads..Let me turn the tables and say hey..youre bragging about knowing how to edit your hostfiles..PUHLEASE! I dont mean to be hostile, I just urge everyone to step back and take a good look at things..happy vibes 2 everyone from Copenhagen!

:shy Iq you are right, opinions do matter. The problem is that this subject has been beat to death already, and if he is so computer skilled he knows that already so drop it. Also this is a big site, and it costs money to run, if you are so skilled you must have a damm good job why dont you buy a shirt, or donate some money to cut back on the adds. The fact that your sorry insulting ass is still permitted here proves that this is a good site. We work together to help eachother, isnt that a supprise.
Just back off take a deep breath and chill a bit.

waita minute......you'd rather have the AdCouncil advertise here? Some of the dumbest ads I've seen came from the AdCouncil. One of the best is from the book Dracula by bram stoker. in the back there was an ad that said by the year 2000 1/3 of the U.S. population would be illiterate, and how we all had to volunteer to solve the problem. I was reading it in the year 2001. Last time I checked 1/3 of the population was overweight, not illiterate. If the adcouncil was any smarter they'd run ads on eating right and staying fit.
I'd rather have cydoor on here because at least its keeping p2p alive, and think about it, it doesn't move, doesn't have annyoing sound effects, relatively easy to ignore. now if it wasn't you'd have a decent point but you don't.

Most media companies like newspapers and tv stations, keep their advertising and editorial departments seperate. Allowing someone to advertisein your paper or on your station doesn't mean that you endorse it. The local newspaper commonly has ads advertising strip-joints, but also congradulates the city when it trys to further restrict them.

Like some site I surfed to the other day that told me it couldn't allow me access unless I changed my browser to accept all cookies. X it, stage left!
