I've finally combined months of partially downloaded torrents from multiple external hard drives onto a single hard drive. After combining, I had 1/4 of a download in one folder, 1/2 in another folder and 1/8 in another folder, etc. Is there a way to get these partial pieces combined into a single more complete piece and continue downloading from there?

It sounds like you are having lots of problems, and you didn't give a lot of detail. What client are you using to download? In azureus you can download the original torrent and launch it, then set the folders you have as sources to download from. Since they are local you would get them fastest. The download would continue where the information you have left off.
If it is taking you months to download, you have something set up wrong. You should be able to get several gigs a day at the least, unless you are using dial-up. If you are using dial-up, find a friend with broadband and get them to download it for you.

I'm using the latest version of Azureus, but it's not working like explained. Azureus just starts redownloading each partial file as if it is separate from the others; and, it places the partial downloads back onto the C:\ drive instead of the external drive.

To join the partial d/l's: Perhaps you could try putting each portion of the Torrent on a separate computer on the same LAN, set all but one to only seed, and if nessecarry use Peer Injector to get them all playing nice with one another. Or, you could be fancy and try using multiple torrent clients on the same computer (as long as they all use different ports). I don't know any better way unfourtunately.
But, the real issue is that Azureus is not downloading to the same files when you try to resume. Make sure, when you add a partially dl'ed torrent that you select the same directory it is in for the download directory.

Thanks, Joe. I'll try all of those suggestions. In addition, I've noticed that BitTorrent tries to bring some of them back together, but not completely. I'll see if other torrent clients will eventually get all those pieces back together.
