I am having trouble creating a virtual cd file of a game. i have also tried using various other programs (some of which i came accross while searching these forums), and i've had no luck. I've tried creatin Iso,Bin etc... When i use virtual cd, it tells me the cd has erorrs. So i use the error correction abilities of the program and start the process (i've also tried without error correction to the same results).

Here's where the problem comes in. It takes FOREVER! I started it at 8am, and i came to check on it at 2PM and it had only done 5,000 sectors (out of 300,000+). That's 7 hours for 5,000 sector's. At that rate it would take ~420 hours!!!

I can use the actual CD with no problems. i can install, and play the game. I even used a file verification program to check the contents of the CD. Everything is fine, and it has no physical scratches on it. So after a bit of reading on these forums, i am thinking that it is copy protected.

So how am i to make a virtual cd of this game? I want to play the game, but off of the HD. For those that would ask, the game is Need For Speed High Stakes. I also have Need For Speed Hot Pursuit, and i can make a virtual cd of that game without problem. Virtual CD can convert Iso's,and Bin's into it's vc4 format, so i at the least need to be able to make a Iso or Bin.

Oh yes, before i forget. These are original games, not copies.

Thanx for any help.

you said you made a .bin of the cd? if so, open the .bin with winiso and then drag the contents into the editor in virtual cd. works for me every time.

hope that helps.

this isnt a good answer, but if you have no luck on this site, try searching the forums at http://clone.cd/phpBB/ or you could also look at www.cdr-info.com

both sites are devoted to cd copying news and finding ways to copy cds

Sounds like the disc is copy protected. I've had that same trouble trying to copy other game discs. You just wanna play the games without the cd right? Try searching for a no-cd crack for it off kazaa or go to www.gamecopyworld.com. You can look up games there with info on copy protection and ways to get around it I think. Good luck...:hole

also, you may want to try writing the virtual cd in raw data mode. sometimes they (the game makers) will put special features on games (protection) that just confuse the hell outa your pc because it doesnt know what to do with the unexpected stuff. but if you write in raw mode, it will write bit by bit, not paying any attention to what its actually writing, thus not causing the computer to become 'confused'
