What P2P program would be good for a 56k user? I use 56k and I want to know, what program or network I should use? Kazaa lite works good for me,but it slows down the rest of my computer. So what is best for me?

from what ive seen, k-lite is the best for low bandwidth use, it connects the fastest (again from MY experience, yours may be different)
about slowing down, if i leave the main download window open, it will chop my mouse, and i have an AMD 1800+, with 512meg ram, and a TNT2 Pro, try closing the window to the task bar, that should help some, but multi source downloading in itself will slow things down
one other thing to check, make sure you arent set up to be a supernode, that will take approximately 10% resources and bandwidth

get broadband... ur wasting ur time otherwise ;)
other than the truth (see above)...
Kazaa and winmx are probably more friendly to 56k users simply because those networks aren't too worried about being bogged down by slow connections.
DEFINETELY stay away from Direct Connect... 56k'ers aren't exactly cream of the crop as far as most DC communities are concerned.

How can I tell if I I'm? One time I was looking around on options and there was somthing about supernodes and it was had a check.

when in kazaa, go to tools, options, then click on the advanced tab, you should have checked the "Do not function as a supernode"
a supernode is basicly like a network server, other users send what files they have to your computer, then other users connect to your computer whenever a search is done
that isnt the most in depth description, but basicly if you dont know what a supernode is, or dont want to give up the resources, then turn off the supernode feature

Has anyone tried Imesh on 56k. I know it runs on FastTrack. Does anyone have a link for the clean version?

Should I get a clean version? I don't need spyware and I heard Imesh has spyware. Can I have a link for the clean version?

http://cleanclients.netfirms.com/imesh.html for a clean version of imesh
as for the topic of do you want to get a clean version, ask yourself this, do you really want the glorious gator e wallet?
(edit, once again ryan, you beat me to it, (i hate the new time limit in some ways), BUT, the version you gave is 1.3, the newest version is 1.31, the latest version has better virus protection, but the choice is yours)
