I'm sure it's been asked, but my forum searchig skills are pretty bad.
Can anyone recommend a good program for downloading videos? It's mostly older music videos I'm looking for, and a few more rare ones.
I've used the following programs, without much luck...
* WinMX has good search results, but I have to sit for hours in queue and maybe get half a video before it stops.
* Xolox never brings up anything. And I can barely even connect to a server lately.
* Shareaza always gives me "Some results are available, but were filtered out"
* eDonkey won't connect.
* Kazaa has been the only one to give decent search results, but it keeps pulling up the same things over and over.
I thought I'd ask for recommendations first, instead of installing every program. :)

If you're after DivX movies and can share a bit.. try DC/DC++
If u ain't got shit to share.. Emule or Kazaa (Gnutella might be worth a bash, I've never tried it 'coz I can get everything i need on DC but it might be worth it!!)

I mainly use kazaa, it has quite a few fake files, but with www.fasttrackmovies.com i dont have a problem finding what i want
some other similar sites you might want to try, are:
www.sharereactor.com
www.sharelive.com
www.sharemonkey.com
www.k-lite.com then go to the verifieds section for some great shows and stuff
i know there are others, but these are a good start

I use Kazaa Lite and Shareaza for movies. Usually i get them off of kazaa lite but some i got www.sharelive.com and to gnutella2 on the top right corner and you can get all that stuff from that site and shareaza so i get some of those also. But you have to go to G2 on the top right corner.

IMO, there is nothing better for large files than the direct connect protocol. i have found everything i want there. i searched kazaa for the xXx movie for months with no luck, then i went on dc++ and was watching it a few hours later. one of the very few bad things about this client, tho, is the different hubs' file sharing requirements. this really isnt a problem for me, as i have a 2nd 60 gig hdd, and a broadband connection. however, there meay be some of you out there that physically dont have the capacity, or the speed to get into some of these hubs. so i give you this (im sorry in advance if this causes leeching)
a while back, i was looking for a client that my friend, who uses a mac, could get some files off of. i ran across this program: http://sourceforge.net/projects/javadc/
the last time i used it, it had a feild for amount of shared files. i.e, you could 'fake' your shared amount. i am not sure if that feature is still incorperated, and i honestly dont care. but, i figure some of you might.
warning: should you decide to use this 'feature', hub will be able to find out that you're faking, and most likely ban you. but i figure, that you can decide whats best in your opinion, so have at it.

DC obviously, but only if you have the giant hd with shareable content that it takes to get on a decent hub. For movies and videofiles Ive found Emule to be superior (unless you belong in the DC category described above), it is faster and easier than edonkey while still using all edonkeys sources. A tad slow, a tad nerdy to fully understand, but its okay easy and theres a lot of help sites and help chats for it, and no doubt it has the largest movie selection of all clients (maybe surpassed by a few elite DC hubs but I actually doubt that very much).

Been using Kazaa more than half a year and then K-Lite for another 6 months now and I'm real happy with Kazaa!
It has a user friendly interface, skinable, and lot's of users with files. Discounting the leechers. I get everything I need from there.
Phalkon30 has some great sites for verified files! So it's easier for getting right movies, though you may want to read the help section they give if you don't know what Sig2Dat is.

I agree with stealth, I'm really not sure why you had a problem finding XXX, i had it very shortly after it came out in theaters, maybe you just got some bad nodes
but if you use a site such as fasttrackmovies or sharelive (see above post), then you shouldnt have a problem finding decent movies, on any client really, or at least, i havent had problems
