I was pleased with both (extremely).

Hey potato, how'd you like Dark Knight.
Now you've been asked.
Loved Dark Knight. Joker was fuckin scary. Batman was fuckin retarded. Bale needs to stop with the growling.
Jumper: B-
It was a pretty good movie overall, but they were in such a hurry to kick ass, they forgot to fill you in on a lot of the plot. Head scratching abound.
Hellboy II: The Golden Army: B
Effects heavy, quirky, and fun. Rather than dealing with Russian legend and the occult, this time we get something Celtic. First time I've seen elves look like they could kick it with vampires.
2007 After Dark Horrorfest movies viewed thus far: Unearthed, Lake Dead, Tooth & Nail. Unearthed has been the best of them thus far, but it's not saying much. Next up is Crazy 8's, which will put me at 50% complete viewing of the 2007 lineup.

Saw it last night ... was kinda long.... the mayhem was a little over the top and could have done without the philosophical undertones on the nature of heroism... other than that it was a good time... Ledger was very good... too bad about him... he had great talent.

Though, the nature of heroism is so at the heart of the Batman character. Maybe he's not as vigilante as the Punisher, but Batman is no Superman-style boyscout.

I can only think of one movie that I didn't like Mark Wahlberg (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000242/)'s character and that movie was, The Departed. He was an a$$hole, but not evil.

I reluctantly started this one thinking it'd be just another cheeseball cookie-cutter action, filler flick. But I was pleasantly surprised. This one actualy kept my attention throughout. For those that enjoy gritty, apocalyptic gore fests, this one will definitely give you Road Warrior flashbacks.

I don't hardly ever watch any of the "toon' type moives although I did watch and like The Incredible's. I watch movies for the story so I don't usually wow over CGI but with Wal-E its often easy to forget its CGI. Only when you actaully see people are you reminded this is a "toon" and thats on purpose. I wonder what it would have been like with actual actors in the human roles.
If you havent watched it yet do not dismiss this one. There are still some good movies to come this year but I don't even see tho Coen Brother topping this movie. I call it a masterpiece. Sorry to gush on about it. It bothers me that this movie isn't getting the proper attention it deserves.

... The Wackness.
I was already up all night, and kind of had that "done too many drugs in one day" feelin' (though sober), and the movie was set in 1994, replete with apropos soundtrack, garb, beepers, and a distinct lack of mobile phones.
It was a great movie but left me feeling sick with how well it recreated the early 1990's... not too far-flung and self mocking like the 80's, yet removed enough that it soon will be.
Also one of Ben Kingsley's best roles... up there and surpassing his creation of 'Don' in Sexy Beast.

Don has a new mvie coming out soon called Traitor. It looks good as well. Don Che is one of my favorites too. I wish he got the respect he deserves. I thought he was great every since I saw Boogie Nights. Some other roles I likes:
Out of Sight - under rated film. Most people don't know it but this film is VERY closely related to Quentin Tarantino's Jackie Brown. One character appears in both films.

Into the Wild, a good film that makes you think about materialism.
This review sums up the film nicely, "A tale of life needlessly lost by a young man who realizes too late that reckless self-reliance is not necessarily the path to self-awareness. That he fails to realize this sooner is tragic".

Oh man. I enjoyed Tropic Thunder. There are some really funny moments. Mels recommends to those that like silly comedy. Robert Downey Jr should do more comedies. This will surely open the door to that genre for him. I really do wonder if Downey's character is doing a "The Rock" impersonation. I say his character because his character in the movie is playing another character with-in the film. Confusing? I hope not. At any rate, he is funny as hell and he steals every scene.
The whole cast of Tropic Thunder is thunderous as well. A few surprises along the way make it worth a snatch. Some of the special effects are pretty darn cool as well. The first war scene is not only funny, its amazing to watch. A tad comically gory if you can imagine that. Watching Jack Black dangle from a helicopter in the background is classic. You have to see it to know what I mean. Too funny

Hard Candy was alright... first time I had heard of Ellen Page.
Watched Hellboy 2 the other night... decent action/fantasy... forgettable and predictable but good.
Potato said I should watch Moulin Rouge tonight... but I think I'm goin' with Tau Ming Chong ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0913968/ ).
Sorry, 'tato. I may need to get back on drugs for that other one.

Really? It got such good reviews I thought. That sucks. I picked it out just because I heard it was good. Now I will have to watch the Big Lebowski again.
EDIT: After looking at IMDB reviews I dont know. It seems there are some people who love it and some people who totally hate it. Mostly because its unrealistic. Well, thats what I love about movies. If I wanted realism Id stare out my front door. I will give it a shot but mostly because of Angie, lol

I didn't hate Wanted, but I didn't like it either. In fact, I'd classify it as watchable crap.
Angelina Jolie just stood their in her scenes with a dumb smile on her face as if to say, "Hello, I'm Angelina Jolie. I'm an actress. Perhaps you recognize me from such hits as..."
.. and, honestly, I'm really really REALLY bored with gun play movies. That's commin' from a John Woo fan from wayyy the fuck back in the pre-Hollywood days.
The director is nothing special, despite what one's (mistaken and misplaced) love for Night Watch and Day Watch may dictate.
Actually, now that I've spent about a minute thinking about the movie... yeah .. it sucks.
Wanted?
"Piss on this fuck-king turrrd." (that one's for you Mels buddy, winkedy winkedy wink)

I agree. It was substandard for an action movie even.... but at least Angelina flashed some skin...

Thats because you paid for it.. As we did not. Watched it about 3 or more weeks ago.. Hell it may been last month. Not a bad movie to see.. Mummy 3 has been out for a few days on dvd. Still havent gotten around to watching that one. I heard that one was just as bad as the second. But it beats watching the Olympics 20k womens walk.. Walk for the gold medal ladies.. Make that left turn, just 100 more times.
I finally bought some more dvdr's.. I went to www.techbargains.com and saw office max had 100pack of verbatim dvd-r for 19.99.. So i went there and got two and used my 10 off 30dollar coupon card.. So 200 verbatim dvd-r for like 32 with tax.
I think its like .16cents a movie rather then 8.75 for one ticket.. 4.50 for one drink, 4.25 for popcorn.
So .16cents movie
1.29 2 litre pop.
3.25 for 6backs of popcorn.. Extra buttery.
Watching it on a 52in HD tv with HD 1080p upscalling dvd player..
Priceless.. Some shit you just cant buy, for everything else theres newsgroups =)

Damn. I liked it. My fav part is the curving bullets. Oh and when he alley ooped the mustang upside down over the limo so he could shoot the dude through his sun roof.
The fact that it had Angelina Jolie in it didn't hurt either.
In fact if they just filmed her standing naked staring at the camera with that wicked come fuck me smile for two hours, I bet it would be the highest grossing film of all time.
Oh yeah, last movie I watched;
The Chicago 10.
Just fucking awesome. It ought to be required viewing for everyone born after the 1968 national democratic convention.

Its really not as bad as its being made out to be here. I actually thought it was pretty good. It could have been better with some more jokes and Shia LeBeof. I knew what was going down pretty early in the film though so there was no surprise. I actually thought Angelina looked terrible in this film. She looks like she has been on a crack diet for a year or two. YUCK! I bet she did not weigh 90 pounds.

I got pulled over by DOT because he was invious over my plasmaThat's funny.
I got pulled over by the DOT just last month for a roadside inspection, 3 days after the annual on the truck.
Dumb fuck saw the new inspection sticker with the date on the side of the truck yet did one anyways. Of course I passed but what a waste of both time and tax dollars.

Yeah, thats another I though was better than expected. Could have been better with more humor though. I actually didn't see the twist coming myself.
I watched The Car (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0075809/) last night. A friend sent me the DVD. Its pretty hard to find a bootleg. I think I'll make a divx file to share it. Pretty cool in a cult sorta way.

I finally saw the dark knight, and WOW. it just isnt batman anymore, and that is a really good thing
sure, "BAM!" "POW!" "BIFF!" was great in the 70's, but batman was always silly. even the villians were silly. Joker, penguin, riddler, and a dead girlfriend that was brought back from the dead with cats. NOT very realistic or even serious.
