Planet Terror, definitely for zombie fans who like buckets of gore. It was much better than Death Proof.

I still don't know how that chick fired the gun sticking out of her leg. But in a movie like this one, it doesn't really matter.

I agree with you sumtingwong that was a great movie I laughed so hard it was a good movie. I haven't seen Death Proof yet so I will let you know what i think.

This is an 05, British flick and I know I'm late, but dang, it was a blast!
It's been a loooong time since I saw a horror flick that had so many elements to it (yeah. I AM pluggin'!).
It was like Shaun of the Dead (the humor) meets Jason (the gore), This movie had me laughing sooo hard!
(then again, I laughed all the way through the Blair Witch Project, Shallow Grave and Very Bad Things...)

Cast was great, cinematography was excellent and just an all around enjoyable, fun movie.

3 10 to Yuma was very good. I've never seen Russell Crowe (<-- if I misspelled that, sorry. That's how me grandpa spells his ) play a meanie, so it was sort of unsettling. Christian Bale also shined (even though I think he is gay <*sniff*>)

One of the best chase scenes I have ever seen in a Western.

I loved Knocked Up, and so did my friends who saw it (and my parents). My sister and her husband, however, hated it. It would strike me that if you liked the 40-Year-Old Virgin (which they did), you would like Knocked Up. Did you like the 40-Year-Old Virgin?

Am I the only one who hated Knocked Up?!

Probably not, there's enough negative posts on IMDB to indicate you're not a lone hater.

I thought Knocked Up had some funny gross-out humour, but the overall story was just a bit unbelievable . Going through with the pregnancy from a pished-up shag with an apparently no-hope slacker, without bothering to justify either way, didn't feel right . Falling in love with same slacker (for the babies sake?) , didn't seem plausible . Slacker decides to get with the program , couple a weeks later, he's made it . Only if they lived in Implausible City . Nah , bit pants .

Rob Zombies retelling of the beginning of Michael Myers . Dark & brutal thriller, as a standalone film it's well worth the watching .

OSS 117 (2006) , French comedy/spoof spy film (with good old English subs) .
Set in 50's Morocco , bumbling French secret agent 117 is sent to calm the situation with the revolting natives, but his arrogance & complete ignorance of local customs has the opposite effect . Smug French suave, midget Nazi's, religious nutters, chicken fights & top local totty, combine to make a very funny movie .
Well worth 99 minutes of your life .

Watched "Before The Devil Knows You're Dead" with Philip Seymour Hoffman and Ethan Hawke . I liked this movie, even though I dislike when a story is told in retrospect.

It was well worth watching. :icon_thum

I went and saw Margot at the Wedding by Noah Baumbach... pretty good character-driven film. Absurd and uncomfortable (my fav).

On X-Mas I saw Atonement... it had excellent acting and a well-done first half, but the casting and narrative for the second half detracted from the overall quality of the film. It is the type of movie that will win a bunch of Oscars due to is relative accessibility to the masses, although there were better films made in the year.

I am looking forward to seeing Juno and Walk Hard in the next month or so...

Watched Death Sentence again last night with my mom. She doesn't get out much. LMAO, she kept asking, "What's wrong with it? It goes from color to black and white a lot..."

Uplifting look into the struggles of a young Maori girl, who's trying to help keep alive the traditions & identity of her tribe . The fact that she's a she , brings her into conflict with the tribal elders & lore she's trying to save .
Darn good stuff :icon_thum
