The sign up form for scene access shows up, but when you enter all the information, you get the message

"Sorry, user limit reached. Please try again later."

It's been like this for at least a month and a half (I check it about once a day). It's especially annoying to have to enter all your info only to find out the site is full. Torrent Damage is the same way.

I'm not discouraging anyone from signing up, just don't get your hopes up when you see the sign up screen- it doesn't mean you'll get in.

Btw, does anyone have a file count for scene access? I'd hate to have to work this hard only to find out they're in the vicinity of a thousand or so files.

And 5,943 torrents? How is that possible? Most trackers have about 1 active torrent to 20 registered users (give or take). 100,000 member sites tend to be in the 5,000 torrent realm. Unless sceneaccess is counting dead torrents- which would be pretty weak, imo.

Itsjustsomeone, are you sure these numbers are correct? If they are, thanks for posting them. I don't feel quite so bad about constantly missing sign-ups.

It'd be nice if this 17 pages of info could be consolidated into a single, constantly updated opening post - new ones added, closed signups deleted as and when appropriate. Any new input from members added to the opening post, then their posts deleted. A nicely-formatted table listing all the trackers and whether they're open or closed would be lovely.

Too much work I guess, but if any mods are particularly bored and feeling particularly helpful... ;)

mm, I think I sort of said - or at least implied - all that. Still, just thought I'd put the suggestion out there, in case anyone's feeling superhumanly keen, as it is a really neat thing when it works. Most of the work lies in setting it up, after that it doesn't take that much work to maintain.

But, yeah, I know it's not gonna happen. Not til they start paying the mods a lot more, heh heh. :icon_thum

As far as I can tell, moderators do not get paid.
From what I have seen, and for the most part, being a mod is quite a thankless job.
The reward would seem to lie in the sense of altruism the mods experience when they offer their time and knowledge to those who ask for help. It's a devotion thing.
Just my thoughts, no offense meant.
