All members must read the rules of leechers lair before using the site. Please make sure that you check back on a regular basis as more are being added all the time.

:: General Rules

*Do not defy the moderators expressed wishes!

*Do not upload our torrents to other trackers! (See the FAQ for details.)

*Flaming releases or members in torrent comments or in forums will see you having those privileges removed and a warning issued.

*Members will get 5 GB on signup, this is to help you maintain your overall site ratio, this is not an excuse to hit and run and anyone doing so will be dealt with accordingly.

*Disruptive behavior in the forums will result in a warning.
You will only get one warning! After that it's bye bye Kansas!

*Your Membership here will depend on a good ratio, if it drops below 1.00 you will receive a warning. You will then have 7 days to improve your ratio or your account will be disabled.

*If your account is unused after 28 days it will be deleted, we have a lot of active users on site and membership is limited. So those that don't use their accounts will be removed to make space for members who want to sign up and use the site.

*Do NOT PM The Owner, Manager or Sysop with questions, they are very busy people and do not have time to answer members questions as well. Use the helpdesk instead, where you will receive 1-1 assistance.

*Going over a member of staff's head about warnings, low ratio's or any other matter will only end up with you being banned. We have a rank system use it. Merlin will back a member of staff's decision 100%, so it's a waste of time sending him PM's whining.

*While we are a fairly relaxed tracker, anyone who receives more than 3 warnings will have their accounts disabled and their IP's banned.


:: Downloading Rules

Access to the newest torrents is conditional on a good ratio! (See the FAQ for details.)

Low ratios may result in severe consequences, including banning in extreme cases.

You are allowed to download:

*Uploaded under 10gb max = 2 Torrents

*Uploaded under 20gb max = 3 Torrents

*Uploaded under 30gb max = 4 Torrents

*Above 30gb = Unlimited

All Members receive 5 gb on signup to help you start your ratio.

All torrents must be seeded for 48 hours, anyone not doing so will receive a warning, which will also include disabled downloads for the duration.

Leecherslair has a fully automated warning system. If your ratio drops below 1.00 you will receive an automated warning telling you that you now have 7 days to bring your ratio back to a minimum level of 1.00. If after those 7 days your ratio does not meet the minimum requirement then your account will be disabled. During the time of the leech warning your download privileges are also automatically removed.

When you reach the minimum ratio required the warning will automatically be removed by the system. As I said this is a fully automated system, so please do not pm staff asking for it to be removed as it can't, only you can remedy that problem.

As we have very few members with a ratio below 1.00 this will not affect the majority of you.

You should always save the .torrent files to desktop and not just open to client, this way if your ratio does drop below 1.00 and you for some reason remember that you forgot to seed (yer right) at least you have the .torrent file to be able to reload the torrent.

Members that have not saved the .torrent file and have let their ratio slip below 1.00 will get little or no sympathy from members of staff.

To download from Leecherslair you must be connectable. If you do not know or are unsure how to make yourself connectible, you should come in the sites IRC channel where a member of staff will talk you through the process.

:: Avatar Guidelines - Please try to follow these guidelines

The allowed formats are .gif, .jpg and .png.

Be considerate. Resize your images to a width of 150 px and a size of no more than 150 KB. (Browsers will rescale them anyway: smaller images will be expanded and will not look good; larger images will just waste bandwidth and CPU cycles.) For now this is just a guideline but it will be automatically enforced in the near future.

Do not use potentially offensive material involving porn, religious material, animal / human cruelty or ideologically charged images. Mods have wide discretion on what is acceptable. If in doubt PM one.


:: Uploading rules - Torrents violating these rules may be deleted without notice

Any breach of the following uploading rules will result in your upload privileges taken away


* All uploads must include a proper NFO.

* All files must be in original format (usually 14.3 MB RARs).

* Pre-release stuff should be labeled with an *ALPHA* or *BETA* tag.

* Make sure not to include any serial numbers, CD keys or similar in the description (you do not need to edit the NFO!).

* Make sure your torrents are well-seeded for at least 48 hours.

* Do not include the release date in the torrent name.

* Stay active! You risk being demoted if you have no active torrents.

* You must be able to dedicate a minimum of 30kb/s per uploaded torrent.

* Do not upload more than your connection can handle.

* Do not have other torrents on the go at the same time, ie: seeding back torrents you have already downloaded or leeching other torrents as this has a detrimental effect on your upload speed

* Images must be attached to all movie files

*Do not upload torrents with multiple tracker URL's, we have a private tracker patch installed. Which means nobody will be able to download from you.

* Pictures should be added to torrents using the browse function on the upload page

If you have something interesting that somehow violate these rules (e.g. not ISO format), ask a mod and we might make an exception.

*NO TOOLS, HOW-TO's OR ANYTHING TO DO WITH HACKING IS TO BE UPLOADED.

* NEVER rename scene releases or their rar files. By renaming the files it will mean that nobody else with the file can jump on and help seed it, and it also breaks site rules.

Please do not upload DVDR's unless you have the speed to cope with them, leechers do not want to be waiting days for a download.

Anyone uploading torrents that are not seeded at a minimum of 30kb/s will have their torrents removed from site, and possibly have your upload privileges removed.

Uploaders speed Guide

We have a good dedicated upload team at leecherslair who all have either high speed lines or Seedboxes. This is why we have a good reputation for our download speeds. At no time should uploaders who have the following speed restrictions upload anything outside this guide:

Below 30kb/s upload rate

Do not upload any torrent over 100 megabytes

Between 30kb/s and 50kb/s

Do not upload anything over 500 megabytes

Between 50kb/s and 120kb/s

Do not upload anything above 700 megabytes

Uploading DVD-R's or bigger should be left to high speed uploaders only. (100mbit seedboxes)

These restrictions have been put in place for the good of the site. Members do not want to wait forever to download torrents.

If you are unsure whether you can upload a specific torrent then contact a member of staff.

Anyone who uploads outside this speed guides will have the torrent removed immediately from site and will also have their upload privileges removed.

:: Cheats

It is advisable not to try cheating, we have several scripts in place to detect cheaters.

Anyone caught cheating will have their details published on the sites shit list, as well as being passed around other sites.

If you do not like to share and be a part of a community then please go back to dump sites.


:: Leaving Thanks!!

If you would like to leave thanks on a torrent then please use the thanks button.

Comments are for things such as:

Quality.
Problems with that torrent.
General questions about the release.

Having hundreds of thanks just makes it harder for everyone to find the information they need.

Staff will PM members asking them not to leave thanks in the comments area, and we have a 3 strike rule in force, a 3rd offense will see your comment privileges will be removed.


:: Seeding

*Torrent sites is all about sharing, therefore hit and running will not keep you here for very long.

*Once you have downloaded the torrent you must leave it in your client to seed, Rules for seeding are:

*Seed back either 1-1 (which means you have given back what you have taken.)

* Seed for 48 hours minimum

*We often get members complaining that nobody was leeching the torrent so they felt they could stop it. Thiis is not the case, even if nobody is leeching it you will need to leave it there for 48 hours. There is no hardship in doing this, and you will also not be using any bandwidth.

*When you complete a download you may stop it to extract it or do whatever you want with it, but if after 1 hour you are still not seeding then you WILL receive a warning, which will also mean that your download privlages are removed for the duration.

*If after you have received a warning, you start seeding again, once you have either seeded 1-1 or for 48 hours, contact the helpdesk and one of the staff will check your account and may remove the warning.

*If you need downtime, contact the helpdesk, one of the staff will then note your account so you don't get warned. If you don't do this and receive a warning you have nobody to blame but yourself.


:: Duplicate Accounts

*Creating duplicate accounts is not allowed on this site or any other torrent site.

*Creating duplicate accounts will get both accounts disabled and you IP banned

*In exeptional circumstances we might allow more than one account, but you will be responsible for maintaining ratio's on both. If this is not maintained then you WILL lose both accounts. If you require more than 1 account, then contact the helpdesk marking the subject for Sysop attention.


:: IRC

The sites IRC channel is there for members to have fun, General chat, or for Gaining help to a problem that you have:

There is only a few rules that we have fir IRC, but breach of any of them could get you kicked or possibly banned.

* Abusive Language

* Spamming

* Linking other sites

* Moaning about warnings

* Abusing members or staff or other IRC users

* SHOUTING (using caps in IRC is considered shouting, and repeat offenders will feel the sharp edge of a moderators boot)

*Personal scripts are not to be used in irc, the only scripts that should be operational are the channels bot script. You will be kicked for using these and may also be banned.

* It is common courtesy to ask someone into private PM first, don't just send them a pm. As this often has the outcome of you being ignored and doing it to staff will probably get you kicked.

The bulk of help is done in IRC from staff and other members that have a good knowledge of the torrent scene.

:: Freeleech Week

From time to time we will have freeleech weeks. This means that when you download from site it will not count against your download ratio.

Whatever you seed back will add to your upload ratio.

This is a good opportunity for members with ratio's below 1.0 to bring them back into line

Anyon who hit and runs on a freeleech torrent will receive a mandatory 2 week warning. You must seed all torrents downloaded to 1-1 or for a minimum of 48 hours.

Any abuse of freeleech weeks will result in you not being allowed to join in future freeleech weeks.


:: Seed Bonus

The seed bonus is quite simple, for every hour that your physically seeding a torrent on site you will receive 1 bonus point.

You can exchange these points by clicking the bonus link.

*For 75 points you will get 1GB to your upload ratio.

*For 150 points you will get 2.5GB added to your upload ratio.

*For 250 points you will get 5GB added to your upload ratio.

*For 450 points you will get 10GB added to your upload ratio. (New)

If you download a torrent and do not complete it ie don't download sample or NFO file, you will show as still downloading and not seeding therefore you will not get any bonus points.

We recommend that you download the complete file to qualify for the seed bonus.

It does not matter how many torrents you are seeding you will still get the same bonus. Do not ask us to increase the bonus or add more to it. It is a Bonus not a pisstake, and if people insist on moaning about what it pays out we will remove it as we are not obliged to give you it. It is and always will be an incentive to seed after site requirements.


:: Golden Torrents

We now have golden torrents on site, this means that any torrent with this symbol next to it will not add to your download ratio. This is a good way for members with less than great ratio's to improve them.

Just because it does not add to your download ratio does not mean that you do not have to seed it back, and anyone not doing so will have their download privileges removed until they do.

All torrents older than 60 days will also automatically turn into Golden torrents.

If site Uploaders have a torrent that they would like to make free, then they should contact Either:

Merlin
Crystal
Scouse
Waynes

As they are the only ones that can set torrents to golden.

You can also search for free torrents from the browse page by using the drop down bar to the right and selecting free.


:: Using Report button

You can use the report button to report a member, torrent or if you are a member of the forums to report a particular post.

You must have a valid reason for reporting someone, or a torrent. Anyone who abuses the reports button will receive a 1 week warning.

Reporting members

If you feel the need to report a particular site member for something then you should clearly state the reason and also provide links if applicable.

This can include but is not limited to:

* Spamming members via the PM system.

* Leaving abusive comments

* You are verbally attacked by this member.

* Hit & Running on your torrents.



Reporting torrents:

You can report torrents for various reasons:

* Duplicate torrents.

* Adult content (which we do not allow)

* Fakes ( I doubt you will ever find these here)

Do not report torrents for lack of seeders or slow seeding, those incidents should be directed to the helpdesk.

Reporting forum Posts:

You should report all forum posts that include:

* Verbal abuse

* Spamming

* Requesting torrents outside the correct area

* Posts with personal details in.

Please note that the forum report system works independently of the main site as they are on entirely different servers and run on different source codes.

I think mdmblaze may have been referring to --> wherever you copy/pasted your stats from (or whoever sent them to you as it seems highly unlikely you signed up at the salad place).
There were around 23 files on the site when I checked (now at 33). Not over 4,000 as you posted.

Avatar rules

The allowed formats are .gif, .jpg and .png.

Be considerate. Resize your images to a width of 150 px and a filesize of no more than 150 KB. (Browsers will rescale them anyway: smaller images will be expanded and will not look good; larger images will just waste bandwidth and CPU cycles.)

Do not use potentially offensive material involving porn, religious material, animal/human cruelty or ideologically-charged images. Mods have wide discretion on what is acceptable. If in doubt PM one.

Do not leech pictures from other sites (by copying the URLs into your profile without uploading the images to a new host).

Rules on music uploads

Due to a great deal of confusion over what our Rules on Music Uploads actually meant, we have discussed the issue and come up with the following rules:

1.

Any programme that to all intents and purposes has primarily musical content is disallowed. This includes, for example, TOTP, chart shows etc.
2.

Any programme that is basically a one-to-one broadcast of a live or pre-recorded concert performance is disallowed. This includes such things as Glastonbury, one-off gigs by specific bands etc.
3.

Any radio show uploaded in audio format must have the songs played on the show edited out. Short "music clips" are OK. This applies both to normal radio broadcasts and any sections from UKNR shows that are uploaded.

The following are allowed:

Chat shows that include one-off musical performances as part of the overall show (eg Parkinson, Friday Night With Jonathan Ross etc.)
*

Music-based "talent"-style shows (eg X-Factor, Fame Academy, How To Solve A Problem Like Maria etc.)
*

Shows that include short audio/video clips (eg I Love The 80s etc.)

If you have any doubt about whether a potential upload fits in with the rules or not, then please contact a member of staff before uploading. The same applies if you wish to upload a show that you think may qualify for an exception to the above, due to historical value or whatever.

In either of the above cases, the Staff's decision is final. Any shows uploaded that are in breach of the above rules and have not been approved by a Staff member beforehand will be deleted without notification. Repeat offenders will have their upload rights removed.

I dont care what his intentions are. The fact is, that if you bother to read the thread its clear that you should use the search this thread function at the top of the page, and post some stats or facts about the site. Otherwise, its just worthless spam.

I do not recall anyone trying to persuade me to start a new thread. I DO recall suggesting that we have a separate thread (scrapping this one is fine by me, if anyone searched some pages back.) for reviews (rules of the trackers.).
