As Peer Guardian does not yet support Windows Vista are there any alternatives to it that will do the same job on Windows Vista

http://www.bluetack.co.uk/forums/index.php

use blocklist manager and convert the files to your firewalls format.

you could also try and use the win98 version of peerguardian in legacy mode in vista. 98 version only blocks tcp but it is better than nothing.

also keep checking the forums at phoenixlabs.org

I wouldn't recommend running the old version. I just tried it (since I didn't know the XP version was incompatible) and it randomly stalls, freezes, and generally does not work right.

Im in the same place you are. I am also running Windows Vista and couldn't use Peer Guardian anymore. Luckily I found something that Is Vista compatible that works just as well.

Heres the wiki on it:

There is the alternative method of using utorrent's built in ipfilter. Check out more info on this here: http://www.bayareatechpros.com/2009/06/peerguardian-pg2-alternative-ipfilter-dat-utorrent/

just don't delude yourself that anonymity is actually present with any of these applications.

Protowall isn't for Vista or any of the 64-bit versions of Windows. If you go to the
Phoenix Labs forums you'll find detailed instructions on getting PG2 to work reliably
in Vista and plenty of people to walk you through it.

I always use the built-in filter capacity of P2P programs alongside PW, PG and any
other firewalls because I can use more extensive lists that block more ranges.
