Does anyone know, is there a way, if you're streaming something in Windows Media Player if you can capture the video? Not through a link on a website, I know how to do that, but rather if it is playing in my Windowns Media Player from a site. Thanks!

Usually WMP cache the video in a Temp folder under Local Settings folder, I think. It would gererate a random filename but check the file size to see, then just change the ext. for what type of video you were watching. You should be able to play it if it's the correct video!

Or you can get a program called urlhelper, it sniffs all data coming to your ethernet card and then it lets you download.

Is there no way just to play it in media player and capture it? It's an .asx file. I couldn't find it in any temp folders. It's on my c: drive, but it's only 1kb.

There is a program call WM Recorder, I have not tried it but it support video & audio streaming recording with support for many formats including ASX. If you can't find it, utility to record streaming video & audio would be the other option!

Best way to capture any sort of stream and save it to HD is use VLC player's wizard option.Simply the best and easiest way.Just put in the stream url and next next your way(with required saving options) to a copy of video or audio on ur HD ;)

I've used this many times...it will capture most ASX, ASF, & WMV.
